The things is, there are precocious, adorable children. And then there are obnoxious, destructive ones.

If Trump was impeached and convicted, welcome to President Pence.

In some ways that would be worse, instead of dangerous incompetence there'd be a moderately competent religious fundamentalist at the helm. He could be okay for NZ, as I understand he's "free trade" rather than threat, bluster, and punitive tariffs / trade war.  OTOH for Americans, many probably wouldn't like the usual fundie agenda, forcing schools to teach "creationism" alongside evolution, "pro life" - until you're born - then you can die from lack of affordable healthcare, probably ramping up the "war on drugs", and probably not tolerant of religious views of people from other nations.

I think we'll need to wait until the mid term elections in 2018.  Then if the GOP is a big loser and lame duck, and it looks like impeachment is imminent, it'll tie up the GOP until the 2020 elections.

My guess however is that there will be an "event" prior to 2018, war, perhaps some false-flag creation, something to strike fear - a Reichstag Fire that nobody realises is a ploy until too late. Best if it can be blamed on "liberalism" - so that an authoritarian attack by way of constitutional amendment can be cemented for the future.

I don't know if Pence would be an improvement but he is certainly more 'establishment' and presumably more controllable by the party and more inclined to accept constitutional checks and balances. I don't know that much about him but if he accepts the rule of law even religious zeal doesn't have to be a deal breaker.

This so-called President never stops... Now it's known he leaked classified information to Russian Ambassador.

While as President he can declassify information, this specific item was sourced from allies, who did not give authorisation to disclose to other parties. Also it jeopardises the intelligence collection.

What a duffus.

The Republicans need to stop this partisan BS and get this guy removed ASAP.

Yeah but will they? My gut feeling is he's going for 8 years.

He is only there "waiting" to stand in for Trump when the "strange one" gets dumped. Why else would you risk the remaining years of your political career?

From Wikipedia:

Kakistocracy: A state or country run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined by English author Thomas Love Peacock in 1829.

So, once again Trump uses Twitter to undermine what the White House has publicly stated - this time about his meeting with Russia.

As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.

Sorry as I said he's committed treason (not that Americans see it for some reason) so he's too risky.

Sharing intel is not necessarily treason. Government can and do this all the time.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Third-party sourced intel that, according to sources, was explicitly marked as not to share with Russians is a different case.

There may be many reasons for this not to be shared. It could help pinpoint the source (which some are saying is Israel), or even the operative if the intelligence comes from a specific group/location being monitored.

I agree that on the face of it his actions are stupid and likely to really annoy Allies, however it is not necessarily treason, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

Maybe he will get fed up when his whole white house team constantly disagree with him. Its not business, its politics. His solution whenever someone doesn't agree seems to be to sack them and replace them with someone else.
I rekon he will get fed up with being told how to do, this/that etc and might resign so he can do whatever he wants, and live back in his beloved Trump tower.

Edit BBC are reporting that he asked FBI to can the Russia investigation. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39944520
