You know, one moment deport everyone the next moment everyone gets a green card. With this guy anything is possible.
Scary thought of the day ........ "Trump, Johnson, Merkel and Putin". Stop the world, it's time to get off.
Boris is going for Downing St?
Associated Press:
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told California voters Friday that he can solve their water crisis, declaring, "There is no drought."
Speaking at a rally in Fresno, Calif., Trump accused state officials of denying water to Central Valley farmers so they can send it out to sea "to protect a certain kind of three-inch fish."
I hadn't heard the background to this, so here's the relevant bit from the article
Politically influential rural water districts and well-off corporate farmers in and around California's Central Valley have been pushing back against longstanding federal laws protecting endangered fish and other species, saying federal efforts to make sure endangered native fish have enough water is short-changing farmers of the water they want and need for crops.
Water authorities say they can't do it because of the water rights of those upstream of the farmers, and because of the minimum-water allowances needed by endangered species in the bay and by wildlife in general.
The three-inch Delta smelt is a native California fish on the brink of extinction. The smelt has become an emblem in the state's battles over environmental laws and water distribution.
To spin it the other way... it reads to me like the corporate farms have expanded to use all the water available, and now want to sacrifice more wildlife so they can make more money.
Not unlike (say) Ashburton or other parts of NZ, except that it is is people here who are being asked to "conserve water" so that more can be bottled and irrigated.

That is a massive massive industry. The vast majority of field labour is undocumented.
Trump must have made up the story about the 3 inch fish.
It doesn't make sense that a salt water fish would need more water.

Yeah, and how will he solve the water crisis. The underground water stores are depleting, they feed Lake Mead. I think thats a common issue elsewhere there as well. Source was a doco on US infrastructure getting old and non maintained. Words are easy.
The more I see of Drumph, the more I fear the magnitude of the disaster he will cause. He is clearly prepared to say anything he thinks his audience wants to hear. He is prepared to pander to the worst instincts of that audience. He will unleash a wave of violence and civil unrest that hasn't been seen since the 1960s and then demand increased repression to contain it. His nomination will destroy the GOP. His election will, at best, do incalculable damage to the US and the world. For America, it will very likely put the seal on that country's decline and usher us into the Chinese era. That may or may not be a good thing for the world, but things certainly won't be the way they were.
Drumph needs to be resisted in every way possible. He is not a clown and he is not a fool. He knows exactly what he is doing and he is a very dangerous individual.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

He did just that yesterday. Twas on the news here, police, attacks by citizens. Going to some Primaries speaking event. And thats not even in Govt or even in the proper election campaign.
joker97: Trump makes everything up. But it doesn't matter. They still vote him.
If that happens, the US will be seen as the laughing stock, or other countries citizens and Govt. Geez, say he goes to a G8, and starts ranting? I'll be tuning in!

If trump is elected it will most likely instantly plunge the world economy into a recession. His frequently proclaimed hatred of bi-lateral trade agreements, his lack of basic knowledge of economics and his rather disturbing views on foreign powers, make for a dangerous situation.
Although it would be four years (probably less) of comedic gold, the economic and social repercussions are extremely serious.

I dont feel it will be that bad. It will be like the big boy in the class, having no one to talk to. The US will find many countries banding together while they are left as far out in the cold as world matters will allow.

It would be interesting, not least in what it reveals about the actual power of the President, and how much he is controlled by people behind the scenes.
