Are we bashing him for the sake of bashing him or are we trying to effect change or to help the American people?

The former

If his re election was held tomorrow, or last month, or 6 months ago, we would all know the result. The fact is he is a statistical anomaly. Exacerbated by anti Hillary, time for a change, and the worker class have had enough. And two teaspoons of excellent Trump marketing in the rust belt, and there we have it.

The big news was the wall. haven't seen that hardly mentioned of late, = fake

Trade deals with everyone as US is being ripped off = hasn't started.

Bans. Couple of them, = failed

Obamacare, = still awaiting traction.

Tweets, = thats pretty much all that has happened since Jan 20.

Ive often said he is harmless. I still belleve that. Kids will write theses on Trump and how and why he got into POTUS, that will be it. We can bash him and I fully agree with that, but is there a need to bash him? He bashes himself every day. He will be remembered as a one hit wonder.

Are we bashing him for the sake of bashing him or are we trying to effect change or to help the American people?

.......... his rhetoric, his attacks on .......... anti-liberal,........ etc etc............

Trumpism could spread and I do not want to see even a hint of it here (in NZ).

What's wrong with being anti-liberal? I am anti lots of things, but I have been raised to accept that everybody should be entitled to their own point of view.

Because "liberal" and "free" are synonymous.

Stupid people don't seem to get that at all.

And if you want to express your view that I'm not entitled to freedom, you'll get the tongue-lashing you deserve.  If you try to use force to take away my freedom, then you'll get more than a tongue-lashing.

<Yawn> <BIG YAWN>

Are you insinuating that I am stupid? You don't even know me. Just because my views are slightly different to yours does not make me stupid. But yes I get it ....... In your eyes "Stupid people don't seem to get that at all". We don't seem to get what? We don't get that "Liberal" and "free" mean the same thing? Well guess what young fella, they don't, so grow up and smell the manure!

And while we are at it, please explain where I expressed my view that "you" are not entitled to freedom in my post above. Please do. The only thing I see is your displeasure (and tantrum) that I have been raised to accept that everybody should be entitled to their own point of view and I am entitled to a point of view that is different to yours.

Tongue lashing I deserve? Because I am taking away your freedom? Give me a break. I would expect comments like that from "Snowflakes" but not from you. Sadly, the only thing I see in your insulting and immature reply are comments and threats that are not too dissimilar to the red-neck commentators that you so obviously hate.

Get over it and stop hating people who may not agree with you 100%! The idiot was voted in. We live, we learn, we move on. We do not make fools of ourselves by jumping on the anti Trump bandwagon. That's what the pr*cks want!

Oh ..... I forgot. Your girlish comment "If you try to use force to take away my freedom, then you'll get more than a tongue-lashing". Yeah right!

Wow.

I make some comments - you take them personally - as if they were directed at you - which if you read them - they were not.

To clarify - you asked me what was wrong with being anti-liberal, I explained quite concisely I thought,  You took that as an insult?

I suppose I could have stated:

Stupid people who are anti-liberal but also desire freedom don't seem to get that at all.  That was the intent of what I said.

Thanks for the compliment about my "girlish" comment.

That's a good example of the kind of unconscious sexism I detest - if by chance it wasn't intended to be complimentary.

I'd also urge you to read the FUG - there may be perceived bias in this thread (and in my contribution to it), but this isn't 4Chan.

I'm chill.  I'd urge mods to not lock the thread just because I copped a lashing - it really doesn't bother me in the slightest.
(I was active on usenet since about 1994 - nothing said on forums offends me)

I sound like a broken tape recorder but the fact of the matter is, (some half) of America want him.

There's always an old Trump tweet that applies to current conditions. Like this one he posted back in 2014:

I'd be genuinely interested to see what the result would be today if the election was held again.

I know he has his core supporters, but there were also many that thought his election rhetoric was just that, and he'd actually grow into the role of President.

Yes - he won the election and the Kremlin cheered, but "(some half) of America want him" isn't true.

Based on presidential approval polls, he should be soundly thrashed. However that depends on who he was running against.  If he ran another dirty lie based campaign against someone who wasn't a white male by stirring up the frightened bigot element in the US - targeting his opponent because they weren't a white male, he could possibly win again - and he knows that tactic works.

I have been seeing reports that Tillerson called Trump a moron. Hotly denied, of course, but networks are standing their ground so probably true.

Dozens of reports, including this one from MSNBC:

MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle, one of the reporters behind the claim that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a moron, made a correction today.
Earlier reports on Tillerson's statement were wrong. "My source didn't just say that he called him a moron, he said a f-ing moron."

Tillerson held a press conference to do damage control - but he pointedly refused to deny calling Trump a "f-ing moron." That's what's called a non-denial denial.

I get the feeling there are those, such as Mattis, who are staying on because they feel like they might be saving their country (possibly even the world) by attempting to curb the most egregious impulses of the idiot in chief. Must be soul-destroying. Got to give them some respect for that.
