Fred99:

Word for the day is "confabulation" (psychiatry).

There's no way any sane person in Trump's position could get away with abusing basically everybody, telling mistruths and outright lies, without something being seriously wrong between his ears.  He probably doesn't realise...

As unwise as it may be for psychiatrists to diagnose public figures remotely, Trump is a serious danger to the world - something needs to be done.

His garbled speech, memory lapses, inappropriate behaviour - and very clearly confabulation - has to be dementia. His supporters need to stop making excuses for him.  Reagan wasn't this bad.

Is President Trump suffering from dementia?

The Republican Journal - Oct 13, 2017 - Lawrence Reichard

Executive Summary: Yes.

If it is dementia, people like us should probably stop making fun of him, though it is difficult. The problem is he has put himself in (or been allowed to occupy) a position of considerable power and influence, and if he really is out of control, every means available, including ridicule, needs to be employed to undermine him. But I guess his outrageous and downright disgusting outbursts should not be held against him. The human brain is an incredibly complex organ. The most civilised, decent, respectful people can say truly ugly and horrible things if their minds are unbalanced by drugs or even something like an excess of insulin. A doctor friend once told me about an incident when he was an intern, when a very dignified older lady went into insulin shock and began spouting the most unbelievable filth. As soon as she she was given some orange juice she immediately returned to her normal self. Maybe Trump should be pitied, if only the immoral sycophants around him would quit propping him up.

You nailed it, Rikkitic. Trump just needs a good dose of orange juice.

I listened to The Howard Stern show, daily, throughout the 90's. Trump regularly called in, due to the NY connection. He provided commentary on a wide variety of subjects on a show.

I can promise you, he was just as awful/ridiculous then. Everything he said, hours upon hours of collective commentary over a decade, was pretty much exactly the same as what we see now.

Dementia would make sense, but unfortunately mental health can't explain his actions.

I forgot to say: Dosage to be administered via colonic irrigation, delivered by commercial water blaster.

Or through the ears.

I'm not sure about that.

Saying something lewd as a guest, then without confirmed political aspirations - but seeking publicity, when talking to a "shock-jock" is one thing - and may be appropriate.

Behaving in that way when POTUS is absolutely inappropriate.

The apparent confabulation also fits with dementia.  It is almost certainly confabulation - no rational sane person would, after publicly admitting and apologising for something like the Access Hollywood tape, try to turn it 12 months later by trying to suggest that it wasn't him on the tape - "could have been someone else". IMO - he's becoming increasingly demented.

So if he has dementia we should all tolerate what he says and feel sorry for him...no way!!!

If he has dementia we would have been told by now as I am sure that there is strong rules regarding the health of POTUS. In my opinion he is one of the biggest idiots ever, and is taking down his party with him.

His attitude to women(with proof) should have been enough to start impeachment, but i guess its fine for POTUS to be a sexual predator but not other famous men.

He doesn't have dementia, he is self important and obnoxious and has no political knowledge. He accidentally won the election, he was surprised. IMO he is just a comical blip in American life, soon gone. He hasn't even done anything bad, because he hasnt done anything, the few of his many ideas that went somewhere, were reversed or failed to get off the ground. Im still waiting for the wall, and the tariff heaven he wants to place on all us countries. He has just ridiculed himself and the US.

There is the 25th Amendment, but apart from that nope - there are no strong rules at all.

Above is the GOP's doctor, who wrote a few lines in a few minutes, assuring everybody that Trump is the healthiest president ever.

Only things really known in public is that he's obese, and that he's got a self-admitted OCD (hand washing obsession).  The President that is - not the doctor above...

Should possibly qualify that in your opinion, he doesn't have senile dementia.

That he's demented is unquestionably true.

We're now entering the End Game phase of Trumps presidency. Excellent analysis here of the Flynn guilty plea.

Donald Trump’s 'working visit' to UK dropped as tensions with Theresa May grow over president's far-Right retweets

US diplomats have dropped plans for Donald Trump to conduct a visit to Britain in January amid a war of words between the two countries’ leaders.

Mr Trump, the US president, had been pencilled in for a ‘working visit’ in the first month of 2018 to formally open America’s new London embassy.

The trip, a scaled down version of a state visit with no meeting with the Queen, was intended to allow Mr Trump to come to the UK while avoiding the mass protests a full state visit would likely trigger.

However, The Telegraph can reveal that the trip has been pushed into the long grass, with no new date in the diary picked.

At last, some good news ...  smile
