House Republicans prepare contempt action against FBI & DOJ.

Analysts are seeing this as the first moves by the Trump administration and Republicans to oust Mueller and shut down the Russian probe. The first step is to build up groundswell of support for the view that the FBI/DOJ are working under political motives. With Trump, as usual, using his Twitter account as a mouthpiece for this.

 

After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters - worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness.

The USA has an unstable, bigoted, senile, ultra-right-wing, moronic egomaniac with his finger on the nuclear button.
New Zealand has a young, intelligent mid-left Prime Minister with no military power and a much higher popularity rating than Trump.

The two countries have different electoral systems, for which I am truly grateful.

Surely, we thought, none of this was real.

ABC News, today: Donald Trump's tweet could prove to be a turning point for his administration

Team Trump’s first attempt to explain away the errant tweet was a claim that Trump himself didn’t even write it.

Instead, officials leaked to the Washington Post that the tweet was drafted by John Dowd - the lawyer representing Trump personally (rather than the White House) in the Russia investigation.

Trump has tweeted 36,500 times to date. This tweet is the first time ever that someone else has claimed to write a tweet for him. Remarkable!
