Pillow magnate Mike Lindell said that he had been vindicated after a Georgia ruling noted that the plaintiffs concerned about election security weren't conspiracy theorists and the trial could move forward.

At issue was an opinion by a judge appointed by former President Barack Obama, who explained that there was reason to believe that there were security issues related to voting machines.

Part of her conclusion was based on the Coffee County incident in which Republicans got into the building holding the machines, broke into them, and stole data. ...

At no point does Mike Lindell's name appear anywhere in the court filing, nor does it say he was "vindicated."

The Georgia district attorney investigating Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia has evidence to charge multiple allies of the former president involved in breaching voting machines in the state.

The crew basically did a failed "pen test," penetration test. I guess Lindell doesn't know there's some steps before and after breaking into someone's office to steal an encrypted drives.

The most important "before" step is pre-engagement. In other words asking if you can break into the office before you do it. This will likely get everyone involved thrown into jail if skipped.

If I show up at home, and a burglar is stuffing my encrypted laptop into a sack in my living room, I'm not going to accept this excuse: "You should thank me for reconnaissance on your house and testing for security issues. Now I'll be going. You're welcome."

His crew also missed "after" steps of post exploitation and reporting. The villains have the encrypted drives, but it's a paperweight until they're decrypted.

Fox news went completely right-wing conspiracy nuts, and accused Joe Biden's immigration policy directly resulting in a terror attack, including making up facts around a bomb..

They then accused the left-wing press about spreading disinformation.

Only to discover it was a high speed car accident, no bomb, no terrorists.

Funny, there was nomea culpa, we over-reacted apology piece released.

For a few hours Wednesday afternoon, Canada appeared to be staring down the barrel of an unwelcome and potentially painful international crisis.

News reports were awash in misinformation following an explosion at the Canada-U.S. border crossing at Rainbow Bridge near Niagara Falls.

Some U.S. media began describing it as a terrorist explosion, caused by a vehicle entering from Canada.

Every element of that preceding sentence was dispelled within hours as flat-out wrong.

There was no attack from Canada; the incident occurred entirely on U.S. soil; in fact, authorities don't believe it was a terrorist attack at all.

That didn't stop a candidate for president of the United States from appearing on Fox News to promote an aspect of his platform: Building a border wall with Canada.

"I have been sounding the alarm bell about the northern border for a long time," said Vivek Ramaswamy during a lengthy interview about an incident he did not witness, was not a subject-matter expert on, and had no insight into.

"This is a mounting crisis. We're ignoring it."

On Fox News, talking heads were talking about their porous borders, and also about Canada's allegedly porous immigration system.

"It is untenable to let millions of people into this country when we don't know who they are," said former State Department official Morgan Ortagus.

"Similarly, there have been people hawkish on immigration who have not been comfortable with Canada's vetting system."

One host on Fox News expressed astonishment that this had suddenly become the biggest story in the country, supplanting the hostage release in Gaza.

When your inflation goes well over 100% this is what happens, the middle ground is there but crowded out by populist Right and Left.
While academics don't like it, the authoritarian populist right and left are really just the same disasters.

Free-market-loving Milei has indicated his support for private sale of human organs.

In June of last year, Milei stated that he would legalize the sale of organs, which is currently illegal in Argentina: “If you have your daughter about to die, and you need to pay for a [medical] intervention. If someone wants to buy your kidney and you could sell it to them. The solution is very painful, you are giving up an organ and, if you also add state regulations, it is worse. I’m talking about social cooperation and voluntary exchanges. It’s the decision of individuals.”

“If liberalism is the unrestricted respect for the life of others, based on the principle of non-aggression and in defense of the right to life, freedom and property; and my first property is my body, then why shouldn’t I be able to do what I want with my body?” he said in another interview.

The comments generated controversy as Milei was essentially suggesting that an individual sell a kidney and undergo invasive surgery in order to afford a separate life-saving medical procedure for a loved one. Additionally, the black market trade of organs has frequently been associated with organized crime in many South American countries, and often results in the exploitation of poor individuals.

What Milei was willing to see on the free market once again generated controversy when he suggested that he might be open to the sale of children. In 2022, when asked if he would support the right to sell one’s kids, Milei responded “it depends.”

On Tuesday, two House Democrats introduced a resolution to force a vote to expel Santos after an ethics committee said he should be referred to the Department of Justice for alleged fraud. He is already facing indictment for conspiracy and other crimes. ...

The timing of a vote to oust Santos was not immediately apparent.

* Johnson has described the vote to expel Santos as a 'vote of conscience'. Expulsion from the House requires a two-thirds vote by members.

EDIT : Update

House Republican leaders have delayed the actual vote on Santos’s expulsion until Friday, citing a pileup of legislative business.

The delay means that the vote will take place as lawmakers leave town for the weekend, allowing them to minimize questions from reporters.
