amiga500:The s**thole remark though crude, will find a lot of acceptance in the USA. He's probably voicing what over half of Americans, and many many people in countries such as Australia, Germany, France, Hungary and others, are thinking.

You can probably add NZ to that list of countries...
Trust me, you have just as many racists as any other country with a white majority.
Back on topic.
Personally I like this cover....

Oh wow. I am in awe of that graphic. You can see the line of his suit, even though it is black on black, and the shirt collar despite it being white on white. What a pity they ruined it with that grungy smoke effect. I bet that the artist who created the design is down the pub getting drunk to get over his/her fresh out of college art director/editor insisting on adding that smoke. It's a blooming tragedy ![]()

You're saying Kiwis are as racist as Australians? Is this an opinion? Or do you have some credible statistics to back up your statement?
Trump crowned? No faux King way!

In a "discussion" over immigration policy - which is what was going on - referring to "countries" as "sh*thole" is stereotyping to imply that individuals from entire nations (or "races") are fundamentally inferior.
I don't agree that past presidents (in recent decades) would have silently thought what Trump expressed - even if many Americans do.

It's not a tragedy. It's showing his head in fire, like "Fire and fury" (the words used to describe sanctions against North Korea) or "Fire and Fury" the title of the book that is going around now.

Funny thing is...
Fire and Fury (the book about Trump's first nine months in the White House) is not the same as Fire and Fury: The Allied Bombing of Germany 1942-1945... But guess which book just went into the best seller list last week?

Let's say NZ was located 25k off the coast from Manila in the South China Sea. We would have boats coming to our shores filled with people wanting to get a minimum wage job in NZ which pays about 15 times more than they could earn in Manila or elsewhere in the Philippines. No wonder that these people would want to come to NZ - they would be classified as 'economic migrants' not refugees. Obviously this is what is happening in Africa as well. Some are 'genuine' refugees for sure but a huge number are economic migrants and this fact is hardening the hearts of people in Europe.
Let's say a young graduate geekzoner can earn $60000 a year on NZ in some tech job and then sees a similar role in the USA paying double that or more but can't get a visa to work there. Well, that is unfortunate, but something the person would have to accept. Similar to the person in the Philippines or some country in Africa with low wages but no civil war etc going on.
