https://www.thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/dirty-money-netflix-review-documentary-series-exposes-donald-trump

"Netflix's 'Dirty Money' Ruthlessly Rips Into Donald Trump's Business Empire & Persona"

"When will the American people lose faith in Donald Trump? That's the question at the heart of 'The Confidence Man,' the must-watch finale of Netflix's Dirty Money. The new docuseries investigates some of the most flagrant instances of corporate greed to date -- Volkswagen’s "clean diesel" cars, the rapid ascent of the drugmaker Valeant, and a sensational maple syrup heist, among them -- but it’s this last episode that will strike the most relevant chord with American viewers.

Unlike Meet the Trumps and other more personal histories, 'The Confidence Man' is less a chronicle of the Trump dynasty and more a hyper-specific look at Trump's business dealings. It's ambitious and brutal but not overly complicated. Tracing Trump's developer-huckster-populist journey, director Fisher Stevens (a producer on The Cove) argues that our current president is nothing more than a modern American con man, someone who profits off his name to the detriment of the general public and who commands a reptilian awareness of the media. Is it all going according to plan?

The White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, is proofreading the text of tonight’s State of the Union address one last time to remove any remaining facts, Sanders confirmed on Tuesday.

While a team of wordsmiths led by the senior adviser Stephen Miller has attempted to craft an entirely fact-free address, “It’s good to have a fresh set of eyes to root out any stray accuracies that might have crept in,” Sanders said.

Even some of the claims assessed as "true" by CNN are very dubious.

For example "2.4 million new jobs since Trump elected"

That should have been stated as "xxx new jobs created since Trump sworn in"

It should also probably include mention of the fact that the number of new jobs created since Trump was sworn in has been at the lowest rate since 2010.

"MAGA" is mainly BS.  The US economy is doing okay, but not as well as other economies such as Germany.  Probably far less sustainable too - one day they'll wake up and realise that boosting the economy by winding back environmental regulations, social welfare programs, consumer protection laws etc, can lead down the path of becoming a sh*thole.

Unlike a crash, it takes years for the US economy to grow. Trump has nothing to do with the current growth.

Say "thank you Obama"

Why the Nunes memo is a very big deal

Washington (CNN)  On Monday night, the House Intelligence Committee approved - on a party line vote - the public release of a memo alleging a litany of abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department.

President Donald Trump now has five days to decide whether or not to allow the memo's release.

While no final "OK" has been given, Trump had made little secret of his desire to release the memo.

Who is Devin Nunes?

The Nunes memo is cherry picked information from classified sources, with context lost, and no opportunity for rebuttal allowed.

I can't believe that anyone would fall for this blatant disinformation. But thats where partisan politics gets you. You're no longer interested in the truth. You're only interested in ensuring your team keeps winning, even if it means blatant disregard for the law. Law that is there to ensure that the politicians are held accountable.

Rikkitic: The coup in America is proceeding nicely.

You mean the one that took place in November 2016?

Trump crowned? No faux King way!
