If Trump spends the next three years tweeting and ranting about CNN etal, while starting to a spend trillion or more on infrastructure, & at the same time not starting any new wars with Nth Korea or in the Middle East he will have done better than GW Bush. As for Obama he spent eight years basically achieving almost nothing except getting an undeserved Nobel peace prize, & a health scheme which is now being dismantled. For Obama 'Yes we can' turned out to mean yes I can give fine speeches, yes I can bomb Pakistani villages, yes I can ignore Israel, yes I can sit in the Oval Office in a great state of limbo. Obama turned out to be the President who over-promised and then spectacularly under-delivered.
You got me - I don't know where to begin my refutation of everything you just said.
I'll have to content myself by saying that two spaces between a period and the first letter of the next sentence went out with Nixon.

Obama Obama yada yada yada.
That's called "whataboutism" - apart from that it's factually incorrect on every point.

Not sure its worth discussing with you, because there is a good chance you will shout "fake news" at anything that goes against your beliefs.
Obama took over the disaster that was the Bush W. Presidency, with a great recession having started and the US being deeper in dept than it had ever been.
The results of the Obama presidency is what Trump have been bragging about since taking office, an economy that has been turned around and job growth.
Time has an article that might educate you a little about the Obama presidency.
BTW: Congress (that was run by the Republicans) did manage to do less than any other congress, in large part because the Republicans went out of their way to make sure Obama got as little passed as possible, even in cases where Obama wanted to pass legislation that the Republicans were clearly on board with.

This memo totally vindicates "Trump" in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!
'American disgrace', Trump? How quaint of you to use a word that is so far beyond your understanding.
Let me give you some examples of proper usage of 'disgrace'.
Your ersatz 'Presidency' has never been anything more than a disgrace.
The way you lied and bullied your way into the White House is a disgrace.
The fact that you are still in office is a disgrace.
The fact that you have surrounded yourself by sycophants and unprincipled colluders is a disgrace.
The fact that you are totally unqualified for the office of President is a disgrace.
The fact that you continue to malign a past President who did so much for America, when you yourself are totally unfit to even polish his shoes, is a disgrace.
Make the most of your temporary ability to disgrace America, because November fast approaches and the collapse of the Republican majority in House and Senate will finally give America the means to rid itself of the most disgraceful President in history.

Donald Trump Is Playing a Dangerous Game of Nuclear Poker
TIME - February 12 2018:
The Trump Administration ... is convinced that the best way to limit the spreading nuclear danger is to expand and advertise its ability to annihilate its enemies.
In addition to putting the Nevada testing ground on notice, he has signed off on a $1.2 trillion plan to overhaul the entire nuclear-weapons complex.
Trump has authorized a new nuclear warhead, the first in 34 years. He is funding research and development on a mobile medium-range missile.
The new weapon, if tested or deployed, would be prohibited by a 30-year-old Cold War nuclear-forces agreement with Russia (which has already violated the agreement).
And for the first time, the U.S. is expanding the scenarios under which the President would consider going nuclear to “significant non-nuclear strategic attacks,” including major cyberattacks.

Here's a thought. Trump has been claiming ownership of a buoyant US stock market since he took office. It looks like the bubble just burst, so I wonder how he will suddenly make that Obama's fault?

BTW, I saw in the report on the TV1 news this week, that Obama's fees, for appearing as a speaker, runs into hundreds of thousands of dollars. What's that all about? Does this cover the Secret Service team that will accompany him for the rest of his life? Or does he pocket it all?

Its not a bursting bubble, this happens. Its been strong now it pulls back. Reports say no pull back for two years, and so far its just lost one years gains. Probably continue then gain some back. A pull back of 10% is not uncommon. Over priced and optimism gets over run by realisation of over pricing, so time to take profits. Oop, its still dropping, better sell more quick. The smart money will sell now then buy back once they feel the trough is at its lowest. Meanwhile the companies whose shares are public are producing and selling as normal.

After cheering the market’s relentless rise, President Trump now faces the reality of its sudden fall.

What I've read today about the plunge is completely normal. However it is good for the media, and for Trump to comment/foot in mouth
They are still making something of it on US media sites. This from Politico for instance:
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/05/trump-stock-market-down-324880
This graph from the Washingtom Post only goes back to the beginning of this year, and dramatic as that drop looks, I guess it does not mean much without the context of the whole of 2017.
I believe the loss account for most of the 2017 gains. That is substantial, but not abnormal. I guess its the "Stocks are correcting today" vs "Stocks are plummeting today"
Graphs are great!
Dec 29
The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -4.60% fell 118.29 points, or 0.5%, to 24,719, closing at its low of the day
For the year, the S&P gained 19.4%, and the Nasdaq rose 28.2%. The Dow added 25.1%, having hit 71 closing records over the year, itself a record. All three posted their best year since 2013, and the Nasdaq rose for its sixth straight year, its longest such streak since one that lasted from 1975 to 1980, according to WSJ Market Data Group.
So, a correction of what seems to be 3+ % isnt an issue, and it will drop more, but still no issue. Remember, the market has risen and risen and risen, but the companies haven't performed like that, so its been more of an investor buying and demand bonanza that is not based on the real world companies that the shares represent. A lesser form of speculation. No doubt when this continues as it will for maybe next week, then the decline slows down but keeps going, we will hear of crash, burst bubble, and so on. The bubble if this continues will burst bit its an artificial bubble based on nothing but speculation. Tough for the investors. Institutional investors or long term investors will not be affected unless they have to liquidate the stocks, which is not what they do. They will pick up more when it troughs. Or rather, when they feel it has troughed. But the company that makes widgets, is still making them, staff are safe.

Don't be so hard on Obama, making speeches is about the only thing he is good at! He should become the World Wide Patron of Toastmasters.
