Speaking of which...

and some interesting polling news: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4817457-vice-president-harris-leads-trump/

Kind of pathetic to see a 78-year-old man resort to schoolyard name-calling and bullying because he realises he's flailing (and losing) in the polls.

The Republican vice-presidential nominee, JD Vance, claimed that calling leading Democrats “a bunch of childless cat ladies” was merely a “sarcastic remark”, as he attempted to deflect charges of misogyny.

Of course before being elected Trump filmed an episode of "Access Hollywood." ON an accidental live micorphohe, Trump described his attempt to seduce a married woman and indicated he might start kissing a woman that he was about to meet. He added, "I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything."

He really is a beginner at this isn't he?  The playbook for whenever a Retrumplican gets caught saying something blatantly racist, sexist, homophobic, antisemitic, misogynist, or just plain bats**t crazy (which is pretty much all the time), is "I was only joking", not "I was being sarcastic".

To the Republican vice president, a softball question from a friendly conservative Fox news reporter: "What makes you happy?"

Sometimes part of me thinks James is just replying to questions with campaign talking points and not much else - definitely very little substance.

I had another thought - with Tim Walz being Kamala's running mate, I really hope he went through more background checks than Sarah Palin did in 2008 as McCain really dropped the ball with her. I suspect Tim has though, although it's hugely ironic that Republicans are taking digs at his military service, when Mr Bone Spurs himself never did any at all 🙄

Yeh I think JD is now in world largely of isolation. Hes probably questioning his decision to flip his values for money/career progression. With him its odd, its not like hes actually dont anything amazing himself, any opportunities were handed to him and some of those he messed up. I dont see him as inspiring or genius or anything of this kind, I almost feel sorry for him.

Walz I do worry about too, there is a lot of mud to throw at him. But hes pretty tough. I do think Shapiro was a much smarter and strategic choice. Listening to Walz, he was ok the first night, now hes ho hum, Shapiro would have bought the fire every night.

I think the probllem with some republicans is, they dont see the problem as needing to oust Trump and with the remaining 70% after ousting magats, some of whom remember Reagan, rebuild the GOP under his methods, security by strength and working bipartisan for the common good. This will need to occur under another democratic president, but thats ok, good things take time etc.

But very few are talking like this. Its still blame the opposition, something Trump is responsible for instead of work with the other party as one.

and this is seen in the voters, republicans all blame the democrats, not an unprecedented global pandemic and its following global recession. Which luckily the Biden crew did a good job of navigating. They are so isolated, instead of thanking Biden they are blaming him, for a border issue caused by the recession in which Trump squashed a bi partisan bill for just so he had something he could campaign on. Its so messed up, but how do you make republicans come back to being one Govt working together? and how do you get US folk understanding how lucky they are?

Regarding Vance, there's a saying “There’s beauty in the ordinary and comfort in the predictable.”

Some election-related news from overnight:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-campaign-calls-harris-surge-suspended-reality/ar-AA1otkdf?cvid=ab329698044343979f8050c13b02ba20&ei=10

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight, I think he needs to take a look in the mirror and realises this is his reality and he is not winning (at this stage).

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-re-commits-to-debating-harris-on-abc-after-backing-out/ar-AA1otlhx?cvid=ab329698044343979f8050c13b02ba20&ei=4

Oh look at this, he changes his mind and does want to debate her now. I guess he's getting desperate!

During a call-in appearance on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday, Trump acknowledged he was frustrated by Harris' political "honeymoon." I bet he is! I'm loving it 😀

Youtube presenter Scott Manley discusses the astronauts stuck in space on ISS, and Starliner, the partially reusable spacecraft from Boeing.

You're probably saying "So what does this have to do with the election?"

Scott Manley makes a point if Starliner does not bring the astronauts back safely, the Republican will use it as an opportunity to make political hay, to take advantage of the disaster for their own political gain.

The Republicans may even make it an issue if everything goes OK, pinning Boeing's starcraft on Kamala.

Long and short of it, anything that goes wrong anywhere in the world is a good candidate for Republican political hay making.

Im sure with Kamalas hands off role, Trump would try his best. I dont think people would buy into her being to blame given the risks are so high for astro's. I lol'd the way he said "Suni flew helicopters and they are far more dangerous" lol, Musk to save the day if things are deemed unsafe.

I gotta say though, as a PM, boeing should prioritise all testing? (politics aside). Sounds odd from Boeing, not something Id have thought you would scrimp money on.

anyway for now, new polls in, Kamala is now in an official outright lead surpassing the 2.0 avg from 1.9 to now 2.1

It also appears the remaining 5% Kennedy votes are hurting Trump. Id assume by that it was the people who would vote anybody other than the 2 old dudes.

I'd assume it's just the 100% convinced anti-vax and their friends. That Kennedy is 70 years old.

Yes it could be non conspiracy theorists who prefer him over maga. I wish polling also asked "But why?" haha. It would be fascinating to get in the head of some folk.

The news about Trump taking a private Jet with Kevin Roberts in 2022 just un does all this "I dont know them, I dont know what they are about" type answers, trying to distance himself from proj2025.

But the Media is going SOFTballs on Trump questioning. Lawrence is fired up and rightly so, he knows politics as good as anyone and he knows when one candidate is getting preferential treatment.

Yes when somebody does confront Trump, he calls them out for being "rude". His brain is too demented to handle it, they should demand he see a neurologist and forensic psyhologist and make the results known to the public. The US is in disgrace taking this guy serious as a nominee. Haley is infinitely a better politician.

Did Tump make this up? He said they now have 3 dates for debates Fox, CBS, NBC and another one for the veeps.

Omg what a troll. Saying Kamala cannot do news interviews as he deliberately timed his to talk over the top of her auto Union presser.

Its more, he is too lazy to campaign so he invites Softball media around knowing its the exact time of her talking after the auto union meeting.

Im a biit hesitant about this Musk interview he has, clearly this is abnormal, so what are they up to?

Sorry for so many posts, run out of time to edit, twice, ugggh.

So, ABC, Fox, NBC and I believe CBS the veeps is Trumps proposal. Kamala yet to respond to this dramatic change of heart, clearly her team need to vett it all etc.
