CNN - Nunberg episode marks the dawn of Mueller's March madness

While much of what Nunberg said was insulting toward Trump and his staff, he also insisted that the President did not conspire with the Russians during the election, offering a rather backhanded defense of his former boss.
"Vladimir Putin is too smart to collude with Donald Trump," Nunberg told CNN. "Donald Trump couldn't keep his mouth shut if Putin colluded with him."

On the plus side
That's merely called "redistribution".
There is no overall plus side. These steel tariffs aren't new - they've been tried before (Bush steel tariffs 2002) - and they failed, consensus being that they had an overall negative effect on GDP and employment growth.
I think the wild optimists suggested that if the Trump tariffs worked then they'd add 100,000 jobs to the US steel industry, (but lose 150,000 jobs elsewhere in the US economy). To put that in context, under the last 6 years of Obama's presidency jobs were added to the US economy at the average rate of 174,000 / month. Under Trump's presidency, the rate of job creation has fallen - so much for "MAGA" and more jobs.
"If you throw out September of this year, when job gains were depressed by hurricanes, Trump's monthly average is closer to Obama's, at 185,000, but the change in administrations doesn't appear to have had much effect on the overall job market."
