Stan:

PJW just release a youtube video on the subject:

In case anybody wonders who could be famous enough to be recognised by his initials, then:

Paul Joseph Watson
He's a conspiracy theorist.
He works for Alex Jones / Infowars.

Posting links to stuff from him in this forum could be a pretty reasonable indication of where that poster goes to find topics for "informed debate" on political matters.

Would you abandon a family member if they supported trump?

Define "abandon"?

Disown I guess would be a better word

Yes.

Never thought I would see the day when political points of view where more important than family it's actually fairly disgusting

Don't you dare try to preach moral family values at me - by suggesting that it should entail embracing scum. You're trolling - I should ignore you.

Relax, Fred, it's OK. Freitasm assured me there are no trolls following this thread.

Ah, ah. Seriously though, just because someone has a different opinion it doesn't make a troll.

Yes, there are no "trolls" here - those that explicitly join just to post crap.

Just to hand

Trump accepts offer to meet Kim Jong Un

President Donald Trump will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un by May, South Korea's national security adviser announced at the White House.

Kim told the South Koreans "he is committed to denuclearization" and pledged North Korea will "refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests," the South Korean official said.

While that sounds good, the problem is that - as other NK watchers have pointed out - the North Korean version of 'denuclearization' means no US troops in South Korea. Clearly, neither South Korea nor the US are going to agree to that. So it is unlikely that these talks will have a more substantial result than any others.

Clearly, neither South Korea nor the US are going to agree to that. So it is unlikely that these talks will have a more substantial result than any others.

There are two reasons. One, is that NK are hurting with sanctions, or two, they have completed armament and are confident that with their existing weapons, they can bargain.

A fair bargain would be denuclearisation, although NK wont want to be emptied of that, they would want to stand the weapons down and promise not to use them?

They would want all sanctions lifted over time, thats fair. That needs to happen when its deemed they are complying, which has always failed in the past. Its not unreasonable to expect US troops to bail out over time. Ask for that to be reviewed in 3 years. They may want oil food and money, thats got to be a no go, SK and China can do that if they wish

Historically this has always failed, plus now, NK is armed. I feel that NK wishes to suck up to Trump, make him feel good, and get as much as they can. Playing the psychological game. Trump will lap that up, as he will be a "winner" . Maybe KJU feels that he can control his people by way of prospering them, "we won" and use SK and China to prosper his people. But one day they may want out, that's the issue. If he isnt protecting them from imminent invasion, he will lose some hold over them

Interesting times

Well, that's right. Kim (rightly) knows that the only reason he will be taken seriously is because now he is confident in his city-killer weapons. He will never give them up. If he does, he's a dead man. His own inner circle would tear him apart if nothing else. So between himself and everyone else, he's painted into a corner. He won't give up the nukes because it's a death sentence, but nobody will relax until he does.

I think he's playing to get a temporary benefit. He might agree to take substantial steps towards getting rid of them, and he will appear to be playing along until he's gotten what he wanted, and then he'll renege. They "permanently" disabled their reactors at least once before, got concessions, and then started them up again a few years later. Now he's got even more stuff he can use to put on a show.

Take a missile and chop it up (it was a test item anyway), throw out some machines (they were old ones) or whatever.

This is a guy who tracked his brother down and had him killed with VX in public, and executed his uncle by shooting him with an anti-aircraft cannon. He isn't going to just go away if we promise him a pizza.

Yep! he also wants to be recognised as a nuclear nation, so yeah, cant have it both ways, and I agree, he will never give them up. But he can sign a peace treaty, say we are now a peaceful but nuclear armed nation, like you are.

Im also thinking that he may play hardball, in the hope that he causes Trump to play hardball, so the talks fail. Then in steps China, Russia, and South Korea and saves the day. That, in one foul swoop removes the US from being the protector of the world. The US can keep its troops there to polish jeeps. Relations will be strained with SK, but hey, you had your chance with talks and you failed.

Uh...it's actually a FELL swoop.

But I guess it'd also be kinda foul.

I was damned sure I'd said that Trump and KJU should meet earlier in this thread - but I can't find my post (wonder why LOL).

They have a lot in common, from being two of the most unliked leaders on the planet, their terms of endearment for each other, nepotism, claims to represent "the worker" etc. So much winning to do, surely if they de-nuclearise the Korean Penisinsula, both deserve a shared Nobel Peace Prize - conditional on them both giving it back in the event that after Kim gets sanctions removed and Trump gets to spout off about being the greatest deal maker ever, any agreements they made start to fall apart, and it's back to business as usual.

President Trump agrees to meet with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un

"What we're talking about is an invitation by the leader of North Korea to meet face to face with the president of the United States," the official said. "The president has accepted that invitation."

Wow - "little rocket man" and a "mentally deranged dotard" in the same room:

Fred99:

No it's not.

To "support Trump" is to support *unconditionally* his values.

If a family member was known to have been porking a porn star while his third wife was at home looking after his fifth child, if he was on record stating that it's okay to sexually assault women, if they were on record mocking the disabled, inciting political violence, empowering racists etc etc etc...

And indicated not even a hint of remorse, then no - if they unconditionally "support" that,  then they won't be stepping foot in our home nor be welcome in our extended family - which includes disabled people, women who have been abused by misogynists, people who have been persecuted because of their race.

I don't want people like that around me - or my family - regardless of whether I'm related to them.

Because they are disgusting.

Don't you dare try to preach moral family values at me - by suggesting that it should entail embracing scum.

You're trolling - I should ignore you.

I don't think you understand the meaning of supporting a political party technically voting for them is supporting them.

So if you live in the United States I would have taken it that you would have voted for Hillary going by your previous posts?

You clearly have not watched much in the way of Paul Joseph Watson.

While I don't agree with all of his content he is a political commentator rather than a conspiracy theorist on the vast majority of his work.

This Paul Joseph Watson guy is a political contaminator?

Sounds a lot like Trump.
