When I used to play chess years ago, we'd joke about O'Reilly's Gambit - which I thought was a thing - but I can't find a google reference so we probably just made it up. When it all turned to crap, you'd leave the table to go get a drink of water and "accidentally" stumble overturning the board.

Anyway, that gambit is being used in Trump's version of 3D Chess, apparently.

Longtime Trump aide fired over financial crime investigation

CNN - President Donald Trump's longtime personal aide John McEntee was fired because he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes ...

Minutes after news of his departure broke, the Trump campaign announced McEntee would be joining the reelection effort as a senior adviser for campaign operations.

News like this is no longer surprising.

Just to top off a successful period in his presidency, it looks pretty much that the GOP candidate has lost the special election in Pennsylvania. The GOP won this district with a 20% margin in 2016, so even in the unlikely event of a come back once special votes are counted, or on a recount, that 20% swing against the GOP will be sending a huge shiver up the spine of most of the GOP.

I await the tweets - presumably some new crazy distractions.

New Zealand diplomat tells US Democrats to organise against Trump or 'we all die'

Caroline Beresford, New Zealand’s deputy head of mission to the US and ambassador to Haiti, sent the tweet in response to a post by US politics website the Hill detailing the Democratic party’s plans for the 2020 election and the possible pairing of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren as running mates.

“A Sanders-Warren ticket could win big in 2020” declared the headline.

“No it couldn’t” responded Beresford in a tweet that was later deleted. “Please get your sh*t together or we will all die.”

In another tweet on the same article, Beresford added “They’ve learned nothing.”
