I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that Trump will become the next president. What is interesting from a marketing and just plain interesting point of view is how he managed it. Fortunately there are a lot of people on the net way smarter than me who have come to a conclusion. The other day he basically told us all how its done with his comment "There is no bad publicity" . Not necessarily true a lot of the time but it is working in his favor now, mainly due to social media and the press.
Every time the word Trump is mentioned in a tweet a update a news item etc it helps him. I think I heard it called cognitive recognition? Basically the more you hear trump the more comfortable you are with the word So Trump Trump Trump Trump ........ Clinton You feel better about Trump, ergo you will vote for trump.
Advertisers have been using the technique for ages. Repeat repeat.
The only way I can think to combat it or at least nullify it, Is to create a "script" that travels the net looking for the word Trump on each occasion it creates another entry , tweet. facebook update or comment that says Vote Clinton.
It would also be very helpful if the likes of antonymous stepped in now and did there thing....

How should I ask? The direct approach never worked for me, I'm no smooth talker.
Drumph is an absolute donkey orifice. He is a despicable human being. He is arrogant, vain and shallow. He is a blowhard and a bully. He takes pride in his ignorance and is driven by an overwhelming sense of superiority. He is manipulative and shallow. He is incapable of ever saying sorry or admitting he is wrong about anything. He is a horrible person and the last human being on earth who should be president of anything. This is the impression I have formed from watching and hearing him speak. In good American, he is a jerk.
I hope he doesn’t win. I think he won’t. He seems to be doing a good job of shooting himself in the foot. But he has changed the rules of the game and it is impossible to guess what will happen. Many of his supporters like his complete disregard for all normal conventions of civilised discourse. They see his rudeness and contempt as a way of sticking it to the Establishment. They perceive this as refreshing straight talk. To some extent, they are right. Unlike every other politician in history, Drumph truly doesn’t care what others think. He feels no need to be polite. He is so full of himself that nothing else matters to him.
If he does somehow get elected, I think the hidden machinery of State will kick in. He will be allowed to bully and bluster in public while the real work gets done in the background. He will be distracted by State dinners and obsequious flattery and the toys on Air Force One while aides quietly scurry to undo the insults and repair damaged relations. America and the world will not escape unscathed. The country will suffer reputational damage, as it already has. It will not be taken as seriously as it once was. There will be economic melt-down and trade repercussions. But Armageddon will be avoided as Sideshow Drumph is carefully stepped around by legions of experienced diplomats in America and abroad and the world will carry on. At re-election time he will be dropped like a hot potato and forgotten about as quickly as possible. The world will be bruised, but it won’t end. These days, the damage even a rogue president can do is limited. People haven’t forgotten what happened in a certain European country in 1933.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
If he gets in. I suspect it will be 4 years of lame duck presidency. His only 'trump card' will be the power of veto.
Mike
The way the big Oompa Loompa is insulting everyone (eg, how is putting down John McCain possibly going to help his cause???), makes me wonder if some people behind his election campaign might decide to sabotage his election chances. Already people in the Republican party are turning against him.

He may be despicable and appear dumb. I can assure you being despised have got nothing to do with losing general elections, and I can assure you he is not dumb.
He has people around him that can help him milk the system and I am pretty sure he will try to install himself as a dictator. Will he then Succeed or not I don't know. Best for the world if we never need to find out.
MikeB4: I sincerely hope that if Trump is elected that the NZ Government distances us from the US.

Won't happen, our economy are too dependant and intricately linked to them
Each state could have their own Brexit

China is more important to NZ
For trade. On global political/economic issues - not even close.
Pays to not overestimate trade with China. It's only about 16-17% of NZ's global trade.

Yeah let's not worry too much about our largest trading partner and 19.3 billion dollars of bilateral trading.
I'm hoping for a happy ending ...
