Sounds like you're being dishonest in your statement. We expect better.

As a delegate, I met her at the party list ranking conference and she came across to me as arrogant and combative. Not the kind of person I would want representing the movement. I recommended to my branch that she be low on the list.

After the minor party debate last night, Luxon looks likely to preside over his own 'coalition of chaos'. The next three years, assuming the government lasts three years, is going to make the last three years look organised and effective by comparison. Vote for these clowns and watch the country crumble.

Voted today, took like 2 minutes with my voting card.
Really easy, fast, and shout out to the poll workers.
Disappointed no I voted sticker but will take relaxed early voting any day.

No worse than what we have had the last 6 years. The real crumble was the number of Ministers that fell. The massive promises Labour is offering is laughable when they have had 6 years to implement them and havnt. Their whole campaign seems to be based on attack of National as I assume they dont have a track record they can be proud of. Very surprised Jacinda isnt helping them.

This election is so deplorable I am not sure I want to vote for anyone.

I can certainly agree with your last sentence. I could never see myself supporting National in any case, but Luxon's utterly disgusting crack about Hipkins' positive Covid diagnosis absolutely slammed the door for me. Anyone that vulgar and low class has no business even being an MP, let alone PM. He repels and revolts me. I would vote for Crusher Collins before I would vote for him. I hope those who sympathise with National policies take a moment to reflect what a snake their leader is. You can do much better.

Oh my, you may not vote in my preffered direction, but I am sure you can find some place that is mostly a fit.

You will never see perfections in humankind, we are imperfect, so we learn to compromise a bit to get things done.
Like the rug salesman 'Oh that loose thread, No that adds to the value shows its handmade' :-)

There are groups out there just winding that shrill siren of discontent.
They want revenge for vaccines, for imperfect but largely successful covid measures (Just compare with toll elsewhere)
Revenge for acknowledging a murderous massacre in Christchurch was an act driven by a certain foul ideology.
Revenge for having a gun buy-back, and tightening of gun regulations.
Revenge for various law Chages that the other lot are not going to repeal anyway.
Revenge for acknowledging climate issues baked into the future we will have to deal with if we believe or not.
Smacking law that my lot would not repeal.
Laws decimalizing alternative lifestyles, even equalizing their rights, that my lot won't repeal.

We have a funny kind of bipartisanship, Government X does something, opposition wines loudly while quiet thinking ...
Thank goodness they did it, knowing that it needed to be done, and they will never repeal.

The Anti's kinda win with a 'no vote' as they want to remove hope in democracy that while imperfect is far far far better than alternative.

Older centre voters disillusioned with National and Labour. That and there is a nice fat underbelly of closet racists.

Labour didn't deliver (cannot run a soup kitchen (from GZ)) National is lax, misleading and tantamount lying. As in experts and economists say there are big holes in your tax cuts. "we are comfortable with our policy" Or they will be inflationary as experts and economists say "No, we disagree with that"

But like Labour with their flagship vote gaining policy that failed, aka Kiwibuild, so will Nationals flagship tax cuts. But in both cases they get votes. Kiwibuild targeted FHB's. Half or so will be Labour or National voters, they got the National votes. Tax cuts, basically are only of value to couples with kids. Again half will already be National or Labour voters so you get the Labour vote. The Tax Cut Policy will not be delivered. Same deal.

So it comes down to who do you trust.

To be fair KiwiBuild did build more houses than would otherwise.
Better to try and fall short than to have never tried at all.
Auckland a big area of big need, had overhang of significant zoning issues for higher density housing, and need to go harder on intensity.

The state house land around rail line running through Morningside etc, ripe for intensification on a mass transit route
got divested by a previous Government? Auckland hemmed in by landbanks and valuable crops, needs to go up a bit.
Public private partnerships probably constrained density as private developers target lower density.

There is expansion down the track, but that expansion into new land is all low density, though advertising says its affordable.

Anyways it was not perfect but Labour did get many people off the street in covid.
The park near me does not seem to have cars parked in it, as it used to.

At least in my part of South Auckland there 'now' much higher intensity building going up.
Regrettably not as close to railway stations as these could have been, but you only have the land that comes up for sale.

At least they seem no more noisy, even less so.
I seem to be in an area where better places have an endless supply of fireworks to let off through the year.

That is precisely what I meant. I disagree vehemently with the kind of talk from that candidate as well, and I'm a card carrying member. It is not OK to take what one person says and does, that absolutely does not reflect the opinion of other members (as you have seen from those here) and tar the entire party with that brush.

I'm disappointed the candidate wasn't ejected for those comments, but I, and as you can see other members as well, absolutely reject that the party as a whole holds those views. To say that we all do is unfair and just plain wrong.

I cast my vote as well. Took a trip into Brisbane CBD, and an ECQ person digging through an ECNZ book mapping streets to electorates (apparently they aren't so great at NZ geography, who knew) but once that was sorted took 45 seconds. Ok maybe a couple of minutes as I did actually read and consider the thing. Even got my "I voted" orange golem sticker!
