Putin seems to be very keen to rewrite history.
Similar to his friend Xi in CCP.

Apparently they actually have a list of records and histories to destroy.
Going all the way back to destroying histories including massacre in 1708 of Cossacks.
Especially archives of USSR repressions and then more recent records of Putin's interference in Ukraine.

Having worked for a somewhat autocratic company director, there are people who simply construct their own reality.
Your job is to just get the job done, any incapacity to do so just confirms their superior vision, your stupidity.
They are surrounded by fools that just need to be driven harder, rotate in ever more brutal managers to whip them harder.

The express UK: 'Ukrainian curling' Fearless soldiers kick anti-tank landmines out of road

Brave Ukrainian soldiers have been filmed casually moving anti-tank landmines out of the way with their feet. A video, shared by the defence reporter for The Kyiv Independent, jokingly referred to the moment as 'Ukrainian curling'. The incredible moment was captured near Kyiv, where “huge” battles are being fought to the north and east of the city, according to its mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

The reporter, Illia Ponomarenko, has earned over a million followers so far as he shares eyewitness stories and moments from the frontline of the conflict.

Alongside the video, he tweeted: "Yes, the Ukrainian military are just kicking anti-tank landmines.

"It’s called the Ukrainian curling on the Warsaw Highway close to Kyiv."

May 9 is a special Soviet day, war winning day. Once Putin has failed with everything,it will probably be, we achieved our goal, Russia is powerful. Even though its a garden centre that they took control of....

Civilians wont trigger them unless overweight, cars wont trigger them as they can easily avoid the ones on the road.

They are pretty easy to spot being unburied and just sitting on tarmac.

Its devious. Some Russian troops were pushed back, so on the way they sprayed the Ukraine people and infrastructure with fire. Today on CNN there was an example where UKR citizens hopped out of their vehicle, waving while flags and they were mowed down. Putin is vicious and has no rules.

Its basically a world war now, although not technically. NATO is providing a lot of military weapons, so its a world war against Russia. Interesting that Putin isnt hanging off that. He was happy to threaten a "world war" with nukes, but its a world war in most respects anyway. His poor military governance has him backed into a corner, NATO needs to step it up and I feel thats going to happen.

It's known as a "nuisance minefield". If a vehicle doesn't see it it and drives over it - win. If people see it and are too scared to move them / drive through it - win. People take a risk and clear it, it slows progress down on that road - win.

Throw a few of them down, let social media spread that they can be cleared by just moving them aside - then set the anti-tamper on the next lot that are laid. Complacency/familiarity leads to death and fear - another win for Russia.

CNBC: Russian oligarchs are welcome in Turkey, foreign minister says

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Saturday that he’d welcome sanctioned Russian oligarchs into his country as both tourists and investors, as long as any business dealings were kept within the realms of international law.

Turkey has been in the spotlight this week with its coastal waters seeing the arrival of two multimillion-dollar superyachts, reportedly belonging to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich — quite literally circumnavigating Western sanctions.

With each one worth an estimated $600 million or more, Abramovich is seen stationing $1.2 billion in the non-EU country as he seeks to move his assets out of reach of U.S., U.K. and EU governments targeting Russia’s wealthy elite.

...Cavusoglu replied: “So if you mean that these oligarchs can do any business in Turkey, then of course if it is legal and it is not against international law, I will consider,” he said.

“If it is against international law then that’s another story,” he added.

The west is dropping the ball in Ukraine.

We're seeing clear evidence of repeated war crimes, and a lack of political will to get directly involved to do anything meaningful to stop them.

NATO got involved in Serbia when atrocities were confirmed, but the lack of action in Ukraine can surely only be because of the threat of Russia's capability to respond using nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) attacks.

At what point will the reset of the world realize that sanctions alone will not work fast enough to prevent a bruised Russian military vindictively leveling Ukraine out of spite?

Agree, when its all political, as in Putins historical dreams, and he unjustifiably starts a war with an independent nation, thats not on. Goes on a Scorched Earth policy thats not on. But when its genocide, that's well over the line. While its fine to isolate Russia and put them behind their own iron curtain, genocide cannot be allowed, the World needs to go inside the borders and push them across their own border, then stay there for a few years, exactly the opposite of Putins dreams. See how his "voters" like that

This is already a World War, two sides officially at war, supported my many countries feeding Ukraine military and humanitarian support.

NATO is a defensive arrangement - NATO members are only obligated to aid one another if they are attacked. If they start a war and get hit back in return, NATO does not have to help. So if the US, or any other NATO member, unilaterally strikes against Russia then they may find themselves hung out to dry just like Ukraine. Nobody wants to risk that, at least not yet. It's cynical, but it's the reality of the situation.

Apparently even what was offered was not necessarily delivered due to 'paperwork' issues, rust and obsolescence.
Even the first offer of helmets and vests was modest in volume compared with the size of mobilization needed.
