TeaLeaf:

JD Vance compares Harris to Jeffrey Epstein and claims polls showing Trump losing are ‘fake’ | The Independent

Maybe picking up a stone called "Jeffrey Epstein" in a glass house called "Trump Tower" is not a good idea.

gzt:
Just pointless trolling trying desperately to get some attention.

That was my take on it. It amazes me just how unprofessional so many Republicans or more like "swing" politicians are. Im glad Trump left the Democratic party. With Vance I think its a bit like Musk, just emotionally/socially underdeveloped. Trump is something else altogether.

I think just like Trump attacking Harris, its not attracting swing voters, using slurs and direct name calling it seems is like water off a ducks back for those democrats and those republicans who see through Trump to just how inept he is. They been there tried that novelty, they aint going back. Problem is Trumps narrow win (and loss) I think gives him some bizarre sense that he belongs, rather than just moving on. at his age he could just play Golf around the world or whatever for the rest of his days, but for some reason he thinks doing a job that requires a lot of effort, even in a fixed legal and modified constitution. He just cannot handle losing, rather than being happy.

Or there is the theory if he doesn't win he could actually spend a fair bit of that remaining time behind bars.

I don't want to speculate but Id assume its a bit of both.

What impact will pro-Palestine protests have on the DNC? Tens of thousands expected in Chicago’s streets | The Independent

Sure they are not outside the building but Im pretty sure they will hear 30-100000 protestors. Harris has already acknowledged them and has expressed her views and likely policy toward the situation. If I were these protestors I would not waste my time on a compassionate candidate. Id be looking toward Trumps hotel, given he is still well within the race and has a far harsher policy toward Gaza.

ROFL, that is on point. The other thing he said which I hate as is trying to manipulate people emotively is "the American people are smarter than that" (or words close to). Hopefully they see through his emotionally immature tactics.

So many Republican advisors have been thrown under the Trump campaign bus that the odometer is spinning backwards.

Trump campaign is giving the Lincoln Project exactly what they want: publicity

Raw Story: 'No crying': Lincoln Project mocks cease-and-desist letter after ad blasts Trump advisers

A new ad running on Fox News in Mar-a-Lago from a group of anti-Trump Republicans prompted a cease-and-desist letter.

The Lincoln Project said Friday it received the letter over its ad, "Failures," which attacks top Trump advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

New York Times: Trump Continues Personal Attacks Against Harris

Trump campaigned in a Pennsylvania rally meant to be framed around economic policy, a day after Vice President Kamala Harris laid out her own economic vision.

Mr. Trump has cast the election as a referendum on the economic stewardship of Ms. Harris and President Biden.

But while polls show that many voters see Mr. Trump as better able to address inflation, he has passed up opportunities to discuss the issue in depth and instead veered into personal attacks and tangents.

Well I think a Taylor Swift endorsement of Harris is coming shortly.

Another dumb move by Trump.

The New Republic: Trump’s Bizarre A.I. Stunt to Win Taylor Swift’s Endorsement Backfires

Donald Trump is looking for anything to boost his fortunes as his polls continue to drop, so he’s resorted to using A.I. to claim Taylor Swift and her fans endorsed him.

The former president and convicted felon shared several A.I.-generated photos on Truth Social Sunday, including one showing the pop star dressed like Uncle Sam, pointing forward with the text “Taylor Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump.” The post also included other A.I. photos of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts. He captioned the post, “I accept!”

The post contained one photo of a Swift fan with a “Swifties for Trump” T-shirt, which reportedly is legitimate, The Independent reports. However, Swift herself has not made any endorsements in the 2024 election. She has spoken out against Trump in the past and opposed Republican Marsha Blackburn in her run for the U.S. Senate in 2018.

Trump is desperate for Swift’s endorsement, and has made some creepy comments about her appearance, repeatedly calling her “very beautiful.” Privately, some of his supporters earlier this year reportedly called for a “holy war” if she endorsed Joe Biden, and presumably that extends to Kamala Harris.

CTV news Canada: Elon Musk's AI photo tool is generating realistic, fake images of Trump, Harris and Biden
...
X has a policy against sharing “synthetic, manipulated, or out-of-context media that may deceive or confuse people and lead to harm,” although it’s unclear how the policy is enforced.

Musk himself shared a video last month on X that used AI to make it appear that Harris had said things she, in fact, did not — in an apparent violation of the policy and with only a laughing face emoji to suggest to followers that it was fake [but only after users pointed out it was fake].

Trump’s mental issues are pretty evident by now. I think he is obsessed by Taylor Swift because he has a shallow fixation on a certain kind of female attractiveness and like any pimply adolescent he really, really, wants the most popular girl to notice him and especially to like him, which of course she doesn’t. So he compensates by fantasising about her, probably similar to the way he fantasises about his daughter. She is the hottest girl around so of course his pathetic ego needs to believe she prefers him over anyone else. If he can’t get her to say so, he just makes it up.

Basic trolling. Get attention. It is intended to disrupt and make himself feel better.

Taylor Swift herself, who knows?

It's pretty clear Trump has been deathly deathly afraid of Swift for years and years now for who knows what reason. This is just Trump's way of making himself feel big and strong and bigger than Swift plus add in some trolling pre-emption so he feels more in control.

Just listened to some DNC speeches. Wow, Hillary Clinton got a HUGE crowd going and gave a spine tingling speech.

She got a few good digs in at the orange buffoon too:

https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/08/19/dnc-live-updates-coverage/hillary-clinton-gets-revenge-00174880

“Donald Trump fell asleep at his own trial. And when he woke up, he made his own kind of history — the first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions,” Clinton said.

Then she grinned as the crowd erupted into chants of “lock him up” — turning the words Republicans used against her in 2016 into a rallying cry against Trump in 2024.

What a surprise, after Trump crows about polls showing him in the lead (before Biden stepped down), now he knows he's losing and it's reflected in the polls...but here we have James calling them "fake" 🙄

I don't know if the polls capture rural Republican voters at all, but Trump is at risk of going to jail if Kamala is in charge of the prisons. Hunter Biden would be happy though.

These polls are all well and good and are either phone or door knock or street polls. But they do not make the slightest difference unless those that are polled get out and vote on the day.

No good polling a hillbilly in the back and beyond of the Ozark’s if they cannot get to the polling booth.

In other words put their mark where their mouths are.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
