This kid deserves all the praise he can get. If only there were more like him. His post is worthy of quoting in full:

"Finally!!! After a huge amount of red tape,$99,922.36 has today been transferred to the Christchurch Foundation and Victims Support.
For those of you who don’t know, there were 2 Go Fund Me pages set up to help cover the cost of my legal fees and to ‘buy more eggs’. Gratefully, Gordon Legal acted probono for me so I don’t have any legal fees. I decided to donate all monies to help provide some relief to the victims of the massacre... it wasn’t mine to keep. I want to thank Corey and sajjad12345 who set up the funds and every single person who donated to the money and made this possible. To the victims of the Tragedy, I whole heartedly hope that this can bring some relief to you.

Ryan Bridge questioned Katie Hopkins over why she only tends to condemn Muslims.

Media personality Katie Hopkins has slung more scolding remarks at Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for her actions after the Christchurch attacks while defending her controversial criticisms of Islam.

Hopkins, once called "Britain's most hated woman" for her criticism of Muslims in the United Kingdom, has courted further controversy over the last week for tweeting Ardern needed to "be dressed as the Pope " after the Sri Lanka bombings.

The comments were a reference to criticism of Ardern for donning a hijab following the Christchurch mosque attacks on March 15.

In an interview on Friday on Magic Talk's Ryan Bridge Drive show, Hopkins said watching Ardern "appease the Muslim community" after the shooting had been difficult while the United Kingdom, she claimed, dealt with Muslims forcing Christians out of their homeland.

"Watching her dress in a dress that is not hers, cover her head for some reason that even Muslims criticised her, watching her put the call to prayer right across New Zealand, one day of mourning wasn't enough so she had to have another national day of mourning," she told Ryan Bridge.

"The prostration of your country's culture in the wake of a terrible attack was unnecessary, I think it was overdone."

Ardern was widely praised for her actions in the wake of the attacks, including for the solidarity she showed the Muslim community and decision to air the call to prayer across the country.

A group of people, however, did criticise her for wearing the hijab, which they say is a symbol of female submission to men. The decision to air the call to prayer was also slammed by Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki.

Hopkins said her criticism was fuelled by concern that New Zealand may transform into a place dominated by Muslims and that people with "globalist agendas" would "tip toe" around issues raised by "cultures that choose to join us and not defend the culture other people choose to join".

"I don't know… why people like Jacinda always want to put other people first. What happened to standing up for New Zealanders, what happened to standing up for your culture?"

Following the Sri Lanka bombings on several hotels and Christian churches, Ardern released a statement committing to standing up for freedom of religion.

"New Zealand rejects all forms of extremism and stands for freedom of religion and the right to worship safely," she said.

But Hopkins said Christians in the United Kingdom felt like second-class citizens and were being forced out by other cultures.

"As a white Brit, I am a minority now… we are being chased out of our own countries."

"We are being forced out, and it is not what I want for the people of New Zealand. I want New Zealand to stay as a place that people talk about as 'one day we would love to move to New Zealand', 'one day we want to go to New Zealand because it would be great for the kids'."

She gave the example of Savile Town in England as being predominantly Muslim, with Business Insider reporting in 2015 that between 97 and 99 percent of its residents were Muslims. Many had come to the town in the mid-20th century to help in the local wool industry.

But according to the Centre for Applied Cross-cultural Research, only one percent of the Kiwi population is Muslim.

...

I don't really think we need any more backwards-ass Brits. We have 20% of our population living outside of NZ who have an automatic right of return and a moral obligation to take refugees that we can resettle in a peaceful country.

Xenophobic Brits should be fairly low down the pecking order on our shopping list for future citizens.

The whinges of white entitlement types are simply pathetic. Jacinda Ardern made a magnificent gesture and she deserves nothing but praise for it. The bombings in Sri Lanka are another insane tragedy but have nothing to do with her.

A Canadian Conservative MP has drawn criticism for quoting the manifesto of the accused Christchurch mosque shooter at a public hearing.

Replying to the comments of a witness at a Justice committee hearing on the topic of hate speech earlier in the week, Michael Cooper read, on the record, a passage from the accused Christchurch gunman's manifesto, which has been classified as "objectionable" in New Zealand.

Faisal Khan Suri, the president of the Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council, referenced a potential link between "conservative commentators" and the online search history of the Quebec mosque shooter, Alexandre Bissonnette, CBC reported.

Suri explained how ... the accused Christchurch mosque shooter, and ... the man accused of killing 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue in 2018, all shared similarities in that they were influenced by hate from "alt-right online networks".

He went on to say, "online hate is a key factor in enforcing hate in all forms" and there should be studies into online hate and the effects it has in the offline world.

Cooper disagreed with Suri's comments, saying: "I take great umbrage with your defamatory comments to try and link conservatism with violent extremism attacks.

"They have no foundation, they're defamatory and they diminish your credibility as a witness.

"You should be ashamed."

To further his response, Cooper read a passage from the Christchurch mosque shooter's manifesto on the record.

The MP was interrupted when Liberal and New Democratic Party MPs began protesting his comments.

The meeting took a brief break behind closed doors, and when they resumed Cooper offered a partial retraction of his comments.

...Cooper refused to withdraw any of his other comments or the excerpt he read from the terror attack accused's manifesto.

OTTAWA—Andrew Scheer says he has removed Michael Cooper from the justice committee over comments the Conservative member of Parliament made earlier in the week.

The Tory leader says it was “insensitive and unacceptable” for Cooper to quote the suspected Christchurch shooter to a Muslim witness during a parliamentary hearing.

Cooper has apologized for reading an excerpt from a manifesto written by .. [the killer of] 51 people at two New Zealand mosques to the witness.

He says he “quoted the words of a white supremacist anti-Muslim mass murderer in an ill-advised attempt to demonstrate that such acts are not linked to conservatism.”

Cooper says he should not have said those words or named the perpetrator.

Scheer says he told Cooper, who represents St. Albert-Edmonton, that as a consequence of his actions he will no longer sit on the justice committee.

He also says he now considers the matter closed.

Thousands of the messages written on Victim Support’s Givealittle page will be shared tomorrow to give solidarity the final word.

In Our Words, is a visual display of a selection of over 36,000 comments from the Givealittle page to form a symbol of unity.

The project aims to capture the solidarity expressed to New Zealand’s Muslim community in the immediate aftermath of the events on March 15.

Victim Support’s Givealittle page closed on May 30th and is the largest page in Givealittle’s 10-year history. The page raised over $10.7m, generating 97k donations from 139 countries.

The donations feature a range of fundraising efforts, including School mufti-days, bake sales, art auctions and music shows, yoga classes, marathons, pocket money from children, as well as business contributions.

Mel Steel, Head of Customer for Givealittle says “After the attacks Givealittle became a place for New Zealand and the world to share their outrage and grief at what happened and express support for those affected. In many ways the Victim Support page became a symbol of public unity”.

“There was a lot of coverage about the amount raised. Whilst the monetary donations are just incredible and much appreciated by the Muslim community, we wanted to make sure the messages written in the donation comments were not lost. It doesn’t matter if you donated $5 or $5,000, these heartfelt messages are an important display of unity” says Steel.

The In Our Words artwork displays the comments in a spiral to express the on-going support, peace and unity from New Zealanders following the attack, and into the future.

The local artist behind the image, Chris Hutchinson, says, “I wanted to give the comments a never-ending shape to articulate our collective commitment to on-going unity.”

“In a sense, I think we can all feel spoken for by these words. I hoped to give each comment a timeless quality, by creating a piece people can return back to.” Hucthinson says.

The project also features bespoke calligraphy by local calligrapher, Arfa Yasin.

“What better way to thank the world for their support than by reflecting their own words in a beautiful artwork and making it accessible to all.” Steel says.

The artwork and comments feature on a specially created website inourwords.co.nz. A book of comments will also be given to Victim Support and support workers as a gift to those affected.

Kevin Tso, Chief Executive at Victim Support, says “It’s hard to find words that express the pain and grief after these horrific events. These words show kindness in the face of tragedy, and people coming together in unity through giving.

“We’re proud to endorse a project that recognises the united and unbreakable spirit of all New Zealanders, as well as people from around the world.” Says Tso.

In Our Words has been enabled by Spark Foundation and Advertising agency, Colenso BBDO. It uses no funds given to the Victim Support donation page. All comments have been used with permission from the author, and the project has been endorsed by Victim Support and representatives of the Muslim community.

Victim Support’s Givealittle page has now closed. People still wishing to support victims of the attacks can donate to the Christchurch Foundation’s Our City, Our People fund at www.christchurchfoundation.org.nz.

The shooter has pleaded not guilty and says he was not the shooter. Trial set for May 2020.

In the immediate aftermath of the shootings the NZ media refrained from using the alleged shooters name or showing his image, so as not to give him the notoriety he likely craves.

I have noticed in more recent reports they are now more than happy to say his name. On the AM show this morning I believe he was mentioned by name at least twice.

Likewise they are no longer voluntarily blurring his image.

For NZ news media it seems to back to business as usual.

The face showing was a court restriction, and that was lifted some weeks ago.

The media really need to get over themselves. This has nothing to do with legitimate news reporting.

The shooter is an utterly loathsome creep who is determined to milk the legal process for all he can get. What a miserable loser. I can't wait for it to be over. I certainly won't be following the news reports on this. Instead, I will be learning more about Islamic practices. I am non-religious and that extends to Islam, but there is a lot to be learned from the different cultures that embrace it. I now see this as an obligation to counter the white racist crap. We haven't had any white sticker plagues here, but if we do, I am thinking of having some 'okay to be gay' stickers printed to go over them. Anything to make these toxic clowns look as stupid as they are.

I don't see what is gained by hushing up his name. That psycho Anders Behring Breivik from the Norway massacres has his name mentioned. Yes, our local massacre is a lot more recent and our Aussie friend hasn't yet had his trial.
