Can they start impeachment proceedings even the though it won’t get past the Senate? A good backdrop for the daily news and it would get good things made public via investigations

There is a possibility that it might get past the Senate as an option for the GOP to replace him with a human being. Oust Trump stay in power, boost for 2020 = sorted

Senate was almost 50/50 before. Is there a final count?

Either way it depends. If they had a viable candidate they might go for it

Well see how that looks over time - now the Mueller enquiry is entrenched, and Trump may have to front up with tax returns.

 

I don't care if he's impeached.  Just so long as he's eventually punished for the crimes he's probably committed.

There aren't many human beings in the GOP.  That is if having a soul is part of being human.  They sold theirs for opportunistic gain.
