I've been surprised by the number of people who have criticised Mr Key on a very ad hominem basis (not here particularly - in the world at large) and yet when you press them, the core of their argument is distilled into  jealousy over the fact that he has more money than they do.

 

I find this particular chip on the shoulder distasteful as well as stupid. A man who grew up in a single parent family, living in a state house and went on to succeed like Mr Key ought to be a serious role model not an object of jealousy and derision. Resenting the success of others as a way of distracting yourself from your own mediocrity is a bit sad, really.

 

He is living proof that hard work and application will get you far in life.

 

 

Maybe it is the way he made his money. Being a currency speculator doesn't exactly contribute to the human condition.

Don Brash is irrelevant and The Right Honourable Helen Clark was a different time. I did not agree with her politics and I have much admiration and respect for what she has achieved in her life and that she got to the top in government when the glass ceiling was just above floor level.

I have not always agreed with the PM but again I have much respect for what he has achieved in his life and the contribution he has made to New Zealand.

Is there any possibility of any hope at all that this will finally put an end to dinosaur Minister For Life useless self-serving system-rorting phony party leader Peter Dunne? I would so like to see the end of that drain on public resources.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why? he is a democratically elected member of parliament with a party that meets the electoral legal requirements for registration.

 

 

He is a useless parasite gaming the system and sucking forever at the public teat. As a voter, I am expressing my wish, as I am democratically entitled to do, that other voters finally see sense and quit electing him. 

 

 

 

What's he done to annoy you so deeply?

I really like Peter Dunne and he's contributed a lot in his time as an MP. A lot of the work he's done as Minister of Internal Affairs particularly with the new FENZ transformation has been applauded by a lot of people.

There are plenty of other MP's who have done absolutely nothing in comparision.

Should he have a party? That's another issue entirely. The law says he can, and if you don't like that then maybe you should be complaining about the law, not the day to day workings of the law.

How many votes NZF will get I would never attempt to guess but old Winnie could be king-maker again ...lol

But here's a thought .. imagine if National and Labour could form a grand coalition. 

Although I suspect it will never happen, a grand coalition could achieve serious consensus on some major issues that are currently political footballs.

Too late to bring this old timer out?

At a purely policy level the grand coalition is not such a crazy notion. (I say that as a Labour voter - Phil Goff is pretty much a National politician and Andrew Little is mostly criticised by his own party for being too much of a socialist)

Labour's best leader was Shearer, but he got shafted because the party decided he wasn't what the party needed.
