TRUMP DEMANDS MORE SHARPIES BEFORE HE'LL RELEASE UKRAINE PHONE TRANSCRIPT

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—An angry Donald J. Trump ordered a dozen new Sharpies before releasing a transcript of his phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump was incensed after he discovered that aides had not replenished his supply after he used his last pen to divert the path of Hurricane Dorian.

In New York for the United Nations General Assembly, Vice-President Mike Pence scoured stationery stores in midtown Manhattan to find the precious Sharpies, but came up empty.

While the quest for Sharpies continues, an aide insisted that the situation was under control. "We found a bunch of Chinese knock-offs in Walmart. He won't know the difference."

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

It's going to be enjoyable to watch Trumpy squirm and try to weasel his way out of this impeachment business.

If history is anything to go by it will end in nothing. He will only go if he .. (A) resigns (B) gets dumped by the Republicans (C) gets voted out in 2020.
What ever way it goes it is going to be messy as he has a lot of loopy supporters.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Assuming there's no armed stand-off or civil war.

Trump doesn't have a problem with calling armed supporters.

“You know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny, I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher."

"I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad,"

"Fifth Amendment": part of the Bill of Rights.

"Pleading the fifth" by crime bosses is clichéd, in preventing testimony, "self-incrimination", among other things.

Trump's personal lawyer, and former model for Count Chocula, Rudy Giuliani on left.

The Washington Post - The rough transcript is devastating. How could Trump not know that?

September 25 at 2:06 PM

At least Richard Nixon had the good sense to resist releasing the “smoking gun” tape until finally forced to do so by the Supreme Court.

That is because Nixon, the worst criminal to occupy the Oval Office until now, at least had a modicum of moral sense and self-awareness.

He knew what he had said was wrong - he was heard plotting to use the CIA to shut down the FBI investigation of Watergate - and he realized that the tape’s release would be devastating to him.

President Trump, by contrast, is so clueless - so lacking in even the most basic sense of right and wrong - that he could actually tweet this morning: “Will the Democrats apologize after seeing what was said on the call with the Ukrainian President? They should, a perfect call - got them by surprise!”

Suffice it to say, there were no apologies after the release of the Memorandum of Telephone Conversation (TelCon) between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25.

This isn’t a verbatim transcript, and it’s always possible that it was doctored in some way, but what is revealed in its five pages is deeply damaging to Trump.

“The United States has been very very good to Ukraine,” Trump tells Zelensky with an undertone of menace. “I wouldn’t say that it’s reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good but the United States has been very very.good to Ukraine.”

Eager to placate Trump, Zelensky thanks him “for your great support in the area of defense.” “We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.” (The Javelin is an antitank missile.)

The very next words out of Trump’s mouth are: “I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it.”

Quid, meet quo.

Trump is explicitly tying U.S. military aid to Ukraine to Ukraine’s willingness “to do us a favor.”

He then makes clear that the “us” he is referring to is not the United States of America. It is the Trump campaign.  ...

Congress will receive the whistleblower complaint by 4pm today.

The Mueller report was devastating. Even more than this, I reckon. But due in part to cover provided by AG Barr, complete gas lighting by Trump and his GOP enablers, and poor understanding/reporting by the mainstream media, he survived that. If the media doesn't tread carefully here, the same mistakes will be repeated.

If a Hollywood writer submitted a script idea of a semi-literate mob boss becoming US president, and used Trump's actual words, the movie producer would comment that it's a little "on the nose": unimaginative, over-literal, lacking nuance.

He's not even the worst kind of human being; he is the worst human being.

Somewhat overshadowed by other news was Trump's UN speech. Well not Trump's speech exactly but the speech Trump recited with help from a teleprompter. Basically promoting alliance of Nationalists vs "Globalism", thus effectively rejecting the UN itself - or any multilateral treaties etc. Not really a surprise that it came with the message "we come in peace" simultaneous with a dog-whistle argument for a strong "western" alliance.

Trump sounded like a heavily-sedated zombie.  He's not good at following a script.  😕
