Senior Judge finds in favour of El Paso county and rules Trump's attempts to redirect funds to the wall from other ministries under his control - illegal.

The Hill: [quoting plaintiff] "Our Founders were wise enough to anticipate that danger and created a strong separation of powers to prevent that from happening here," Parker added. "Today’s ruling vindicates the Founders’ wisdom and confirms that the president is not a king, and that he cannot override Congress’s power to decide how to appropriate funds."

In practice maybe more appeals. I'm not following this closely.

A fake video of President Trump shooting, stabbing and brutally assaulting media personalities and political opponents was played at a conference for his supporters at his Miami resort last week, the New York Times reported Sunday.

Donald Trump Jr., former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) were all scheduled to speak at the three-day conference hosted by American Priority at Trump National Doral Miami.

FWIW, the video has Trump murdering people in "The Church of Fake News" .

It was posted to youtube on September 15, the anniversary of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing by the KKK.

What f%$%ing evil morons.

The Washington Post - Trump’s retreat in Syria turns into a mess

today

A week ago, President Trump shocked Washington and announced he wouldn’t impede an imminent Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria.

Now, in the space of just a few days, his administration is already reaping what it sowed.

Turkey’s incursions at various points along its border with Syria began on Wednesday and, by the weekend, had already plunged the region into chaos.

Turkish artillery pounded Syrian Kurdish positions, while footage emerged appearing to show Turkish-affiliated militiamen carrying out grisly roadside executions of Kurdish fighters allied to the United States.

Tens of thousands of panicked civilians attempted to flee the Turkish-led advance, raising fears of an eventual exodus into Iraqi Kurdistan, where more than a million people displaced by conflict still live in camps.

Trump, who spent part of the weekend at one of his golf courses, insisted on Twitter that his country ought to be rid of its commitments in the “quicksand” of the Middle East. ...

This animal fable may be appropriate. This is the Russian version which, of course, is the darkest.

The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across a river.

The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung by the scorpion, but the scorpion argues that if it did that, they would both drown.

The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion.

The scorpion climbs onto the frog's back and the frog begins to swim, but midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog, dooming them both.

The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung, to which the scorpion replies "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature."

The Washington Post - Trump’s campaign manager calls impeachment inquiry a ‘seditious conspiracy’ as another witness testifies

Oct. 15, 2019 at 8:02 a.m. GMT+13

President Trump’s reelection campaign manager Brad Parscale on Monday branded the Democrat-led impeachment inquiry a “seditious conspiracy” and called for the resignation of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as another witness testified behind closed doors.

Parscale's comments came as House investigators heard from Fiona Hill, the White House’s former top Russia adviser.

Earlier in the day, Trump renewed his call to unmask the whistleblower whose complaint sparked the impeachment inquiry, which is focused on Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his son at a time when U.S. military aid was being withheld from the country.

With Congress returning to Washington after a two-week recess, several other depositions are also planned, including that of Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, who is scheduled to appear Thursday under subpoena. ...

Kurds already being killed by Turkish troops. Turkish mortars landing near American US Special Forces, with some thinking is a way to force them to move even farther away from the region. Trump really doesn't treat his country's allies properly.

Regarding the Republican's wanting the whistle blower's name, character assassination is the Republican's primary weapon, with mud-slinging their backup weapon.

Obviously laws exist around whistleblowers, otherwise no one would ever come forward.

I guess it goes without saying that

  • "give me the whistle blower's name"

    contradicts

  • "my job is to end corruption everywhere"

    The Republican's frustration is palpable.

I was wondering who in Trump's circle had enough brain power to use consecutive multiple syllable words: "seditious conspiracy"

    Meet Donald Trump’s Campaign Manager

“Trump, Inc.” examines Brad Parscale, a web designer turned digital strategist turned presidential avatar with a knack for personal invention that rivals that of his boss.

    ProPublica by Andrea Bernstein

...ProPublica’s Peter Elkind joined “Trump, Inc.” to talk about his in-depth profile of Parscale in ProPublica and the political juggernaut Parscale is assembling to re-elect the President.

Here’s what Elkind says about Parscale and the stories he tells about himself: “He changes dates. He rearranges facts. He omits conspicuous events. He basically rewrites his own life story to become a more romantic tale, to fit into the image that he’s trying to convey. He is a promoter, he’s a hustler, he’s a marketer.” In short, Brad Parscale is a lot like his boss.

On the bright side (for Trump) the USA will be able to sell a lot more guns and ammo to Turkey, thereby fueling the American war machine.

Paradoxically, no, because part of this whole saga is that the US refused to sell the latest block Patriot SAMs to Turkey. Turkey then approached Russia for S-300 and S-400 SAMs instead. The US threw a hissy fit because Turkey also is an F-35 partner (they manufacture some components, even, though there is some debate over how difficult they will be to replace with a second source supplier) and this would lead directly to the situation where a Russian-made radar would be saturating an F-35 with pings and sending back a treasure trove of signature information to the Russians.

Turkey's response was a giant FU and to get even friendlier with Russia - Erdogan was given a personal tour of the Su-57 with Putin at the Maks Airshow - and it's all downhill from here. But I'm sure that Trump knew all that history and took into account with his great and unmatched wisdom.

Pay no attention to the man behind the hamberder.
