Fourth associate of Trump's personal lawyer arrested and taken in to custody.

David Correia was one of four individuals named in an indictment that accused a pair of Florida businessmen with orchestrating a straw donor scheme to circumvent campaign finance laws.

This one was arrested after he turned himself in. That would send a bit of a shiver down Trump's spine (if he had one). The others tried to run - turning yourself in sends a signal that you might want to cooperate.

The Washington Post - House passes resolution condemning Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. military from northern Syria

Oct. 17, 2019 at 8:27 a.m. GMT+13

The House adopted a resolution in an overwhelming bipartisan vote that rebuked Trump’s move to pull U.S. troops out of northern Syria - a decision announced Oct. 6 that has found few defenders on Capitol Hill.

The vote was 354 to 60 with three Republicans and independent Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.) voting present. [abstaining]

All members of the House GOP leadership team were among the 129 Republicans who supported the resolution.

Fred99:

freitasm: Trump is a monster.

Yes he is.

Disgusting.

A reality show setup is not appropriate for the White House, and doubly so for grieving parents.

Even the guests on tabloid talk show have some idea what's coming.

Trump is an immoral moron with zero emotional intelligence. That he set this up as a reality show says everything about his character and perception. Like a true psychopath, he has no idea what normal human emotions are, as is abundantly evidenced by his complete inability to empathise on any level with the families victimised by his anti-immigration policies and his separation and caging of children at the border. He is so devoid of any kind of compassion, and so downright stupid, that he actually convinces himself that something like this can be a good idea. In other words, he is a monster.

Holy shit. Trump is really dumb as a door. "Shared thousands of years back to Ancient Rome".

It's like the airports during the American War of Independence...

This guy is on drugs. Powerful drugs. Mind and reality altering drugs.

Anyone disturbed by the sawtooth nature of Trump's signature?

It looks like how "Billy the Puppet" from the Saw Movie franchise would sign his name.

Perhaps he's thinking of the days he wore togas while partying with Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh, and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

I can see why he'd want to go back to when there were slaves, and women couldn't vote.

Of course patricians still distract the plebeians with spectacles, now called reality shows, so that hasn't changed.

Do you think he heard a studio audience chanting "Donald Donald Donald..." In his head while he did it? Then a fat guy in the front row jumped up and took his shirt off for some reason?

sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In rather bad taste, but I read a satirical comment that Weinstein/Trump productions is going to shoot a movie on Epstein's fantasy island, "Lord of the Flies - Unzipped".

Varkk: I think a lot will quietly deny they were ever supporters of him. I remember the early 2000s Bush supporters were very vocal and seemed to be everywhere. After 2006 or so they basically disappeared off the internet.

I agree. The bulk of Trump supporters are cowardly bullies who, like hyenas, depend on pack numbers for anonymity and protection.

With Trump gone I doubt they'd mob for Pence.

Fifty US nuclear bombs are effectively hostages in Turkey

Trump, with his enormous genius, is an idiot.

I'm no horsey expert, but in my inexpert opinion that's one hell of a classy looking horse. And Rocket Man seems to be able to ride, or has a good grip on photoshop.  Apparently when he's seen riding his white horse on Mt Paektu, an important announcement is on the way.

Meanwhile Trump's probably looking forward to another day playing golf. It will be Day 224  and 1104 rounds since his inauguration, at a total cost of US$110 million.

Trump from the Oval Office, reassuring everyone that he's got a good grip on the situation, with the proviso that as usual, he doesn't seem sane or coherent.

"We're confident, and we have a great -- a great air base there, a very powerful air base. That air base alone can take anyplace. It's a large, powerful air base," Trump responded, apparently acknowledging that US nuclear weapons are being stored in Turkey.

"And, you know, Turkey -- just so people remember -- Turkey is a NATO member. We're supposed to get along with our NATO members, and Turkey is a NATO member. Do people want us to start shooting at a NATO member? That would be a first. And that's all involved having to do with NATO," he added.

I feel sorry for the horse, carrying that fat lump.

I feel sorry for the golf cart, carrying that other fat lump.
