At the end, Stephen makes a joke about "Auntie Anne's". In many US airports, in terminals without food courts, "Auntie Anne's" are small one-person food stands that primarily sell pretzels and canned soda. Miami airport is #43 in the world, #13 in the US: not small, but not big either.

Republicans Run For Cover After Trump's G-7 Doral Announcement

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Colluding with foreign governments to influence an election? No problem. Lining your pockets by hosting a global economic summit at your own resort? That is where the President finally lost the backing of GOP lawmakers who typically defend his actions.

kingdragonfly: I have no proof, but I strongly suspect Trump is a speed addict.

Not really relevant, I suppose, but wasn't Hitler also a speed freak?

Not just speed:

I suspect that if Trump is using drugs, then it'll be a similar situation where they're prescribed by his physician and thus legal (from Trump's POV). But there's no evidence Trump uses illicit drugs, cocaine etc, and he doesn't drink alcohol.

Yeah - you're right.  I was thinking some MDMA (ecstasy) maybe, but that would probably make him more smiley when he was being gropy with his tiny little hands.

There's at least one account of Trump snorting Adderall which is illegal.

Adderall is frequently prescribe to children for attention deficit disorder. It's anecdotally believed to give a "brain boost," and reportedly used illegally by US high school and college students before exams.

Drug Abuse.com

...Snorting Adderall can cause serious health problems, including ... aggression, paranoia, and psychosis.

...In particular, snorting Adderall ... appeals to some users looking to get a more intense high. By crushing the medication, the users may tamper with the time-release mechanism that normally ensures a controlled release of the drug’s effects over time. Tampering with the drug in this way can produce more powerful high with a rapid onset that may be both dangerous and more likely to quickly lead the user down the path of addiction.

Why Is Snorting Adderall Dangerous?

Snorting Adderall delivers the drug to the brain more quickly than oral administration. When Adderall reaches the brain, it enhances the effects of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and dopamine, which are responsible for euphoria associated with the drug, as well as other physiological effects.

...Dopamine is a “feel-good” neurotransmitter that normally gets released when a person engages in healthy activities that sustain life, such as eating. However, drugs can release excess dopamine can cause rewarding sensations that keep the user returning to the drug even when it is actually causing distress in their lives. Excess dopamine release is a common factor in a number of addictive substances.

More damning confirmation of the quid pro quo. This is definitely worth a read.

Kind of anecdotal, even if it seems to fit, thinking also about his unusual sniffy behaviour in the presidential debates.

Regular use of amphetamines may result in weight loss, but I guess there's a ratio of speed:hamberders coming to play - and hamberders seem to have been winning since "The Visionary" was painted:

The New York Times - Ukraine Envoy Testifies Trump Linked Military Aid to Investigations

Oct. 22, 2019

WASHINGTON - William B. Taylor Jr., the United States’ top diplomat in Ukraine, told impeachment investigators privately on Tuesday that President Trump held up vital security aid for the country and refused a White House meeting with Ukraine’s leader until he agreed to make a public pledge to investigate Mr. Trump’s political rivals.

In testimony built around careful notes he took during his tenure and delivered in defiance of State Department orders, Mr. Taylor sketched out in remarkable detail a quid-pro-quo pressure campaign on Ukraine that Mr. Trump and his allies have long denied, one in which the president conditioned the entire United States relationship with Ukraine on a promise that the country would investigate former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his family, along with other Democrats.

His account implicated Mr. Trump personally in the effort, citing multiple sources inside the government, including a budget official who said during a secure National Security Council conference call in July that she had been instructed not to approve a $391 million security assistance package for Ukraine, and that “the directive had come from the president.”   ...
