Well they do have 2 factor auth for large payments if you've set it up. And offer the RSA dongles for business banking

Thinking up a cryptic secure password with their limitations is hard... I'm certainly changing mine!

i was originally looking at bringing the gfs account over to asb this year too.. that plans on hold instantly.

Not a fan text message 2fa though, also that large sum netcode is pointless as they could just drain your account using small amounts :p

The limit is a daily limit transferred out of your accounts IIRC. You can drop it to $1 too if you so desire.

ASB Security is below par.

I had huge issues trying to change my password, even phoning ASB they did not know the problem.

In the end, we found out they only allow 8 characters -- even the CSR support was surprised.

That's why I bank with ANZ. To login to my Internet Banking it requires a code to be sent to my Cell Phone and then the Code to be entered while in conjunction with my internet banking password. :D

Whatever you do, don't use ANZ. The ANZ password system is crap.

most likely their web server accesses their mainframe - so not really an excuse - unless the user record is aso held on the mainframe rather than a more modern box.

Yeah, I thought about it more, as no doubt it goes via a middleware layer, so can't think of why they have such stupid restrictions

While I agree the 8 char limit is bogus, you can actually enforce 2 factor authentication for everything, including login - which is what I have. It is delivered over txt though.

Whatever you do, don't use ANZ. The ANZ password system is crap.

Oh well, we never need to reset our password. In fact, I personally think ANZ has a robust system in place. Two factor authentications is the way to go.

Well it is better than igloos. Theirs is a 4 digit number, so there is only 9999 possible combinations.
