What's the spec's of the PC you're using?
Given the cash you dropping on the wifi routers I assume it's decent, but be good to confirm

The one above is a Ryzen 3950X with 64GB of RAM (personal rig). I just did another test with my workstation, that is a 64 core Threadripper with 256GB of RAM (workstation). This is connected directly to the ONT with a 10Gb nic (and the link is actually 10Gb, I checked), no Asus router. This is the speed I get (again tried multiple different servers with very little change in results):
I should be getting hyperfiber speeds (2Gb up/down) with this setup. In case you're wondering, disk usage barely budges over a few percent. Both machines have PCIe 4.0 NVME SSDs, ditto for CPU.
Back to the other baffling issue. The one and only place, so far, that I get a decent download speed (50MBs+) from is this ISO download:

It is consistently fast. Not a single other mirror of Ubuntu or Mint (again just for a nice big file to dl) is close, most give around 2MBs (really, two). Doesn't matter where it is, NZ, Aus or anywhere in the states. I also see consistently bad results from my employer (which is the main issue tbh).
aj6828: Out of curiosity what speeds are you getting from cloudflare warp? If you dont mind .. i know its off toptic .. I often use warp when I download upload heavy stuff to the cloud..
Is this the kind of thing you're after @aj6828? This is done direct to the ONT with the 10g nic. I haven't switched back to the router yet.

Given your pc specs and the tests in live iso, very much sounds like an ISP or upstream issue here.

I'm seeing this issue as getting router that will 'work'; given the PPPoE requirement. Doing the direct connection of a PC with PPPoE is an experiment to try and bisect the problem and try to prove it might be at the customer end, or the non-customer end. Remembering proving a falsehood is always difficult.
Running a high end machine with linux helps rule out lots of potential problems. However it still a CPU switched solution, with lots of moving parts.
From the graph above you are getting approximately 900Mbps/150Mbps from a 2Gbps/2Gbps service. This is a PPPoE delivered service.
I would be still looking at some of the lower layer issues:
Looking at the send graph there appears to be some congestion control issue kicking in. (i.e. the network stack thinks the pipe is full because there is packet loss). Looking at the receive graph something seems to be shaped/policed to 1Gbps.

Yup, I think I'm being limited to the lower plan speeds, the 900/400 "SPRINTER" plan. Thanks for the suggestions, but at this point, I'm done testing unless Quic asks me to. If one of the most powerful PCs in the country can't do it, with Windows or Linux, something is wrong. My time is worth something and I've already put many many hours into this. If it is a PPPoE issue, then fair dues and I'll need to switch provider. I don't think it is. I'll leave this in @Quic's court now.
Hello after reading this whole thread, i'm looking to switch my broadband to @quic, and will be using @ssamjh code since he seems to be a big proponent of @quic, i saw how to get ipv6 working but my question is how to get the ipv6 configured on my different workstations, i used to use tunnelbroker from he.net and that was well explained but in quic case since i have never used them, anybody has configured their pfsense router for their static ip ipv6 ?

@magesnz Simple, you'll set up IPv6 on your router and magically, via SLAAC your clients will have IPv6 also. No tunnels needed.

I joined @Quic and had similar issues with my Hyperfibre connection. I've since established it was MTU settings for PPPoE. I switched to another provider who claimed to be able to get HyperFibre working with PPPoE and we're still going around in circles.
As far as I can establish HyperFibre just doesn't play nicely with PPPoE whereas it worked perfectly (and symmetrically) with Orcon's DHCP connection.
Happy to be corrected by someone but I've certainly wasted a significant amount of time trying to get it working.

That is their LG. I believe they had some problems and were fixing it up but haven't finished it yet

A few months ago you mentioned IPoE would be an option soon. Any ETA?
I will switch my Mother in law once this is up and running - given she lives in a different island is the main reason as it easy to switch her from her current provider without any re-configuring

It's gone back to slower speeds again. :(
Maxing out around 700 / 300 now.
I've got the UDM SE running scheduled speed tests every day, in the early hours of the morning, and it hasn't gone above 700 download in the last week.
Upload highest was 245.
If I add up the last week and average them I get 415 / 167! 😮

I'd say something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark with only being able to get 900 down from their own server and not being able to exceed 171 up anywhere.
