@quic, I've just shifted to quic today, so far so good, and the switchover process was pretty seamless. I ordered the connection last night and it was provisioned this morning which was nice! One thing I did notice is I'm hopping via Auckland for local Wellington traffic, is there anything that can be done to optimise routing there?

I think somewhere they said they don't have a wellington POP at this stage.

I have been with Quic since January and have moved address once during that time. so far so good, I am still shocked I had fibre installed and internet access in under 3 hours, I couldn't believe it..

@quic Is there anyway to get a symmetrical gigabit line? I don't have the network equipment for more than 1gbps but would love more upload speed. If not is it possible to order hyper fibre using my current gear to get symmetrical gigabit?

Will quic get their own sub forum anytime soon?

I joined this week and have found the move across smooth. The @quic team were responsive and easy to deal with. From request for service to getting the ONT port provisioned I was all set in 48 hours. Thanks @quic ;)

I'd support this as well.

My current results:

  • Vetta (CHC): 905/149
  • Spark (WLG): 407/155
  • One (WLG): 733/171
  • Xtreme (WLG):  402/153
  • Primo: 859/134

I'd say something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark with only being able to get 900 down from their own server and not being able to exceed 171 up anywhere.

Yeah, my upload speeds aren't that great either, i'm lucky to hit 150-190 up on a good day to most speed test servers (900/400 plan). Spent a good few hours trying to troubleshoot my network today, to no improvement unfortunately, must be outside of my control. Bit of a bummer for my homelab and media centre setup.

UniFi USG 3, based in Hanmer Springs. Not the latest and greatest router, but had better performance with other ISPs

There has been some problems with upload recently with Quic and they're trying to chase down what is causing this. I believe their teams are under a bit of pressure with figuring this out.

I've been having some high latency issues recently with my provider (MyRepublic), but only at night. Would someone be able to post some speedtest.net results that were generated at night?

I know these aren't a perfect indicator, but so far it seems consistent based on other people I've checked with (some with MyRepublic and some with other ISPs).

@PlatinuM195 Honestly when their network is working nicely I've found Quic to be very good plus they're lightyears ahead of MyRepublic in term of connectivity (they have point of presence both in Auckland as well as in Christchurch currently with excellent peering). MyRepublic only have a point of presence in Auckland and don't really peer at all.

Before the upload issue people are experiencing I was getting a solid 940Mbit down, 510Mbit up even overnight. Fingers crossed they get on top of the issues they're experiencing but honestly even though there may be issues with some people currently it is not as bad as issues I've experienced with other providers.

@ssamjh has a Smokeping instance you can check out: https://home.sjh.at/worksmokeping/ but right now I'd take it as a grain of salt. If you want to join up to what is otherwise normally a great ISP there are referral codes plastered over this thread in peoples signatures so you can decide who you'd like to give $50 to in return of a free installation :)

I think at this point I'm kinda done. I've given them a fair shake and shared a couple of messages via this BB. They tried something a couple of weeks ago, but this is the result I'm seeing tonight:

Just to be clear, I am paying for 2Gb hyperfibre. I'm pretty bummed. I really liked the extra visibility into what might be wrong and self support, but I can't self support something that doesn't work. I'll give it to the end of the pay cycle and then move on if it's not fixed.

Have you tried speed tests throughout the day? There's a packet loss issue going on right now that would be impacting your speed tests from ~3pm to ~11pm.

I run daily speed tests on my udm se at 5:45am and those are similar speeds to what I’m seeing.
Same as when I run tests at any other time of the day at the moment.

I've been considering the move from skinny to quic, but not sure if its worth the hassle for saving $5/month particularly if quic also up their price.....if I did do, I assume I can use the skinny modem and just change the settings?

I've been on their Sprinter plan for 8 days now. I'm also contributing to the SamKnows stats for Quic.

For me it's been a smooth ride so far. I am still waiting on a static IPv6 allocation though which I hope comes through soon.

Here's a grab from my SamKnows box.
