aj6828: I currently use two 950 plans on port1 and port2 and combine them on wan aggression on my router ..

This is not the way to increase throughput, you are far better to get a second ONT installed with a request that it is served from a different OLT.

The GPON service is a single 2.5/1.25G service split between around 16 ONT's - you are expecting almost all of that for your ONT alone.

Or upgrade to 2G Hyper Fibre as this is fed by 10/10G XGSPON service (You can even then drop back to Max on 2 ports if you want and you will keep the HF ONT and the XGSPOON service)

michaelmurfy: Be kind. They're a newer provider with a smaller team of people. These problems are often needle in a haystack type problems that take time to investigate and also resolve.

They aren't new though - they're a part of the Vetta Group. Vetta has been around since the better part of 2010.

@boosacnoodle the ISP, Quic is new. Different products, different support etc. if you were a Vetta customer you could use their phone support. Not to mention you have no idea if the underlaying network is different and if they’re simply using IP space or what.

Thanks mate Good to know .
I had the 2gb hyperfiber plan and since the pppoe issue I thought this would be the better option for me for now till they sort out the ipoe/dhcp plans..

Does tye hyperfiber ont operate on gpon mode on 1gig ports? Or xpon?

I currently have the Nokia 110 hyperfiber ont.

@aj6828 there isn’t a PPPoE issue, there is a wider issue like what has been discussed for a number of pages now that is still under investigation. Link aggregation is really not the way to go.

Yes, Quic uses the Vetta network, but in my experience I haven't had any issues. They do have a packet loss issue but it's being worked on.

100% sounds like an issue with your work network. Vetta is not slow, I use Quic myself and a number of friends use Quic also. I've also had historical experience with Vetta and they've been great. Yes, there is a wee issue currently but the connections are still quite snappy.

If you come up with loose statements like that and you're unable to diagnose if this is a connection issue at your work where it be a slow router, slow WiFi, slow connection (eg, ADSL or VDSL) or anything like that then Quic is not for you anyway.

We use and resell Vetta across many sites nationwide, from multiple Data Centers to RBI and UFB endpoints. Even have transit and BGP etc with them. Aside from the DDOS attacks we have never had any noticable problems, to the point where we have recently started putting Quic in for residential endpoints.

A small team that always has gone above and beyond for us - even 5 years ago when our bill was only $100 a month.

The Hyper Fibre ONT only uses XGSPON, so you are already on it, hence why you are not seeing issues - however as @michaelmurfy points out, you are far better to have a single connection rather than link aggregation, this is more of an issue with your router, than Quic. I would only recommend dual wan in the following scenarios

1 - Guest vs Trusted networks requiring different public IP's and bandwidth pools

2 - Redundancy between 2 ISP's

In both of those situations, I would have different ONTs whether they be GPON or XGSPON ONTs as otherwise the ONT and fibre to the street becomes a single point of failure.

Woke up this morning to non working internet.. bit of troubleshooting and it appears quic no longer have a route to cloudflare DNS. Switching to Google DNS resolved (hehe) the problem for me.

Tracing route to one.one.one.one [1.1.1.1]

Same thing here. Looks like it dropped around 11:10pm last night, based on smokeping charts.

Funnily enough, I believe this is not Quic's fault (or Vetta, where their transit comes from). I am not sure if I'm allowed to expand further on that, but it has affected another ISP as well.
