dontpanic42: Cool. Thanks for that info.

Could I ask another favour?

Have you seen any RPi/element14 charges come through on your credit card yet? It may be too early to see any of the transactions, but was just wondering on the off chance if the transaction had already come through.

Cheers. :)

I haven't been charged anything yet, and I used a DC so charges usually come through instantly the description just takes a few days to come through.

Mine is saying complete, but still no tracking number.

Cheers. :)

No tracking number at all, no email, the order status says "Tracking number not available"

It was delivered by Toll couriers, signature required.

Just received mine from Toll.
Sent out from Australia.

Woohoo... let the testing begin! Now, where did I put that spare SD card?

How did you overcome the expired (?) credit card issue? Keen to know as I am in the same situation - have emailed them but not heard back.

To be honest, I don't know.
I contacted them about a month back, but with no response.
I suspect no-one has actually been charged yet. Or, at least, it seems that way from a few of the previous comments.

I will probably send them another email, or possibly ring them, to try and sort it out. But if I still have no luck I'm sure they will just send out some sort of invoice
I'm more than happy to pay them, it just seems like they don't want to take any money at this point. Odd.

If anyone sees a payment come up on their credit card, please post back here to let people know.
Similarly, if anyone receives an invoice, please post here to let us know.

Cheers :)

Good luck to him, supply vs demand will dictate whether it will sell I guess.  Make hay while the sun shines, given the rate of progress now I 'd expect  to see the order backlogs cleared within two or three months.

Good to see he's being honest in the Q&A.

In between ordering it and them sending it (my one arrived yesterday) we changed credit cards. I just received a call from them (+61296458888) saying that they had tried to process the transaction and it had been declined. I gave them my new card number so that they could take payment.

They said that they had decided to send them out without taking payment as they didn't want to delay them any more.

Ahh... that'll be why.

In the end I called them up and gave them my new details, so I'm all squared up with them now. :)

Still haven't found that spare SD card. Hmm, might have to go and buy a new one.

I guess that means that they processed all payments for this batch so I should see mine appear in the next day or so.

Pretty good gesture and very trusting of them to dispatch them before secuirng payment.

Just did the same, but mine is still only expected to be despatched end of June. By then I expect all you who have it to have also figured out the best way to do whatever it is we bought this for. I've got a few more weeks to get all the media files tagged properly for XBMC.

this is taking a lot to setup the SD card than I thought.

anyone know the quickest way to just install XBMC on this thing?

currently using the openelec guide to setup the SD card, but that was a nightmare to do (needed a linux box, and my vmware/virtualbox didnt want to work, got ubuntu running now on normal pc, but this is a slooow process....)

I think I've been going about it the wrong way as well.

I've been trying to use the debian install tool (Win32DiskImager) noted on this page, to install the raspbmc image from here
It does do something when I start it up, but just hangs on a multicoloured square screen after it does some network updates.

I'm really not sure I'm doing this right.

Do you have a link to the OpenELEC guide?

well i found this build of openelec which has a script to make the raspberrypi sd image

http://sources.openelec.tv/tmp/image/openelec-rpi/

that seemed to work ok, but when i plug in the rpi i get "No Signal" on two different TVs, two different HDMI cables, only one SD card (i dont have these laying around, had to buy this one for it). Original tried using the guide found here (http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=Building_and_Installing_OpenELEC_for_Raspberry_Pi) to setup the SD Card; when that didnt work i used the script.

oh the plus side looks like my tvs USB can power it, red light comes on, but cant get past no signal, so not sure if reliable enough to run off it.... my hope is my tvs usb can power it so it just turns off/on with the tv and I can hide it away easily with no need for power adapter.
