The 55" Panasonic GZ1000 is enjoying some sharp pricing at the mo, down to $2297 at Noel Leeming and JB HiFi (plus free delivery).

RTINGS also turned in their LG BX review recently, which unsurprisingly was highly rated. Given there seems to be no question of it's ability to play high frame rate content this time, it could be 90% of the CX at a discount; 2 less HDMI 2.1 ports, slightly worse brightness and color gradient.

Unfortunately, since my Lotto pay-day never eventuated, the 88" ZX is still out of my reach.

It's now $5k cheaper, and you get another 65CX as part of the bundle!

Well, sells itself really! I'm sure I could sell that to cover some of the cost...

I got one of these at NL for $2188 today, if anyone was on the fence and was looking to get more off the price.
I had been after an LG but thought the savings on this were better than the additional features in the LGs. Time will tell.

the G series is now on runout; the H series has landed; at least the H1500... is now at Harvey Norman. The full H range is arriving over 3 months.

Was that from a store which actually had stock? I've never had much luck getting NL to offer below sticker on anything they didn't have "out the back".

I ordered at the store in Riccarton (Chch) and it is being delivered up from Invercargill. I couldn't persuade them to deliver straight to my house so I'll have to suss picking it up at the store once it arrives.

We just bought a Samsung 'The Frame' 65" for the new place. SWMBO did not want the TV dominating the room.

Perhaps not the ultimate in IQ but not at all bad.

I think you'll be happy if Picture Quality is important. The GZ are amazing

Does anyone know when any other HDMI 2.1 TV's will be released in NZ? Im holding out for this feature, though with LG not fully supporting HDMI 2.1 features on 2019 TV's (Freesync) it is muddying the waters abit.

Currently i search on Pricespy with a HDMI 2.1 filter and all I ever see are the LG models, just wondering if anyone knows when some more competition will be coming in.

The HDMI 2.1 feature-set is a bit pick-and-choose, so what specific thing are you after? Or just all of it?

Samsung's 2020 Q70T and upwards range (one port only), and LG's NanoCell 85 and upwards + OLED range, support most/all of the 2.1 feature-set. The upcoming Sony X9000H range will support it as well, but no word on when that will be here. Or even if it will.

I'm also guessing most of the 2020 8k TVs will support it as well. Unlike certain 2019 models...

Since there are no HDMI 2.1 client devices yet, no-one has been able to test anything as well.
