After deciding OLED was best for me, the best price I could get on the LG C8 & AF8 was 5.5k. Then I stumbled across a 65" A1 at Noel Leeming for 4.4k, brand new. After asking for their best price they came down to 4k. Thought that was too good a deal to miss given the AF8 & A1 are the same & deciding I can live with the way the A1 sits.

Hopefully this helps others that may be looking.

Wow, thats great deal.

I paid 6k the other week for a a1.

My A1 has been sitting on a cabinet while I check all the cables etc run fine, then I'm going to wall mount it.

$4k is a great price for a1. Did they have the a1 in store or are they sourcing from their dc/another store? I tried HN but they only have one left in Palmy and the guy on the phone wouldn’t budge from $6k even though the af8 is going for the same price...

Re 65 A1, there are only a couple of displays left at NL auckland stores. Seems to be the same with Magness and Heathcotes. Will wait and see what happens when Sony release their rumoured A9 later in the year and what impact that has on C8/AF8 pricing.

Thanks for the tip. JB were definitely the most helpful in the end. They only had display stock everywhere, having sold out of new units earlier in the day. They called up their Sony rep though and were able to secure one of the last 7 at the Sony DC. Wasn’t able to knock down the price any further but happy with $4498.

Good stuff, I was surprised Noel Leeming dropped the price further as would have paid 4.4.

I am keen to wall mount as well but unsure on the best bracket. Have you looked at different options yet? I’d like to get as close to the wall as possible.

Wow...amazing price for the Sony A1. I wanted an A1 but ended up getting one of the "last" NIB LG C7s for $4700 a couple of months ago. The Sonys were quite a bit more expensive and they wouldnt budge on the price. Loving OLED though, amazing image quality.

Agree, not disappointed in getting an OLED. Awesome picture, just need more 4K content.

I was in Harvey Norman in Wellington today. They're trying to sell their display model 65C7 for $4799. They also had a totally crazy price on their display model 65 A1 which was high $5k something...Talk about dreaaaaming.

65C7 got down to $4199 new at Easter at JB during their clearance sale.
