Jaxson: Just got a Bond and Bond email saying this weekend their headphones (excluding apple) are two for one...

Wow, pretty good. Wonder what brands they carry, hopefully some good stuff and not the usual celebrity-endorsed lines...

Some Bose, the odd bit of OK kit in the odd store, but mostly Beats, cheap Sony, Panasonic and others.

Also the Marley line.

The website itself isn't showing the deal, but it was in the email I received.  Actually no, it's on the front page under the 'Killer Deals' slide-show.

They have Black Box's top of the line M10 offering, normally at $299, so potentially you could get that at $150. Heck maybe even sell the second one on trademe for more...

Beats by Dre in 4 different colours are back at the Warehouse Red Alert deals today from 10am.
$249 plus some postage presumably. Colours appear to be Purple, Light Blue, Red and Green if this is of use to anyone?

Hi all,

First post :)

Ahh, fellow headphone enthusiasts.... It's been nice going through all these posts.

Here's my collection:

Schiit Bifrost > Schiit Lyr > HifiMan HE-500
RSA Predator > Denon AH-D5000
Shure SE535
Sennheisser HD251-II

Also, I've been looking at getting some JH16pros and I need some impressions done. Anyone have any recommendations for audiologists in the Wellington region? There's a few around who provide this service - Just wondering if anyone has any feedback, good and bad.

Rock on!

Nice collection!

Where are you based? I would love to listen to the HE-500 sometime. I just sold my HE-6, but am considering replacing with the HE-500.

Wellington.

I got to have a good session with some Audeze LCD2s. Wow. Lush, amazing bass extension, airy, comfortable, nicely rolled off treble (I think) made for fatigue free listening sessions. The real question is how much better are the LCD3s lol.

Running into issues with my Shure 535s (a fairly common issue it turns out). The sound cuts in and out due to the way the cable connects with the shell. It's a real shame as it's a great sounding headphone. Would not recommend this IEM, unfortunately.

I'd love to try out something new but alas, no monies. The Senn Momentums look and sound nice, albeit expensive.

Ah well, let me know if you're up this way and want a listen on my gear, I will drop you a PM if I'm down Wellington way at some stage.

The LCD-2 are amazing alright. The shelved treble makes them a little less apt for my hearing and genre tastes, but I do adore them for the stuff they excel at. I don't think anybody thinks the LCD-3 are truly worth the extra premium, and some enjoy them less (they have more air and definition in the treble as I understand it, making them technically better but not necessarily better for everyone, your description of the LCD-2 makes me think you're more likely to be in the camp that prefers the LCD-2 over the 3). Every now and again I get close to selling them because they get far less use than my other cans, but then I listen to some female vocal jazz or stuff like Massive Attack and I realise I can't part ways with them after all.

Does anyone have/have experience with the Vmoda LP2's or M-100's?

Looking at purchasing either one of these, but unsure... Don't want to drop ~$500 on something that I haven't tried :(
