The 65" X9000H is currently 2,470.40 at JB with code 92SONYSAVE

Do you mean as detailed in this post from two days ago?!

To be fair, brevity isn't my strong suit, so I'm not surprised people miss details haha

Congrats to the new X9000H owners, hope you enjoy your new TVs!

I must admit I was pretty tempted by the 65", but not in this fiscal year unfortunately.

Due to Covid-19 we had to cancel a big overseas trip to the Caribbean and USA so plenty of spare cash.  😀. Also doing various home renovations.

I wonder if we will get black friday/boxing day deals on the LG OLEDs this year. Seems like NL are ordering them in very limited numbers, and for individual preorders. Makes sense considering the chaotic year we've had anyway. Tempted on a panasonic 65 GZ1000 clearance sales (around 3200$) but i really want HDMI 2.1 for gaming

Hard to say really. Retailers really struggling for stock. JB Hi Fi don't think they'll get any LG OLEDs in till February.

Was really hoping the NL could do something even remotely comparable to their crazy $2800 C9 deal last November. $3700 for the CX 55 is a bit steep right now.

The 65 CX was available for about $4k a month or so back but that price looks a distant memory now. Maybe Black Friday will bring something but with stock seemingly so depleted I wouldn't be too optimistic.

On a side note, we got a 65 WX to replace our W7, to be honest it's barely noticeable in terms of improved picture quality so if anyone is running the older LGs then unless you need HDMI 2.1 for gaming I'd probably hold off.

I purchased a 65" CX for $4,488 in the first week of November and ETA for delivery is next week. That's on the understanding that it's managed to get through our ports. LG are meant to be getting another delivery in country during December but no idea what's already committed.

I was chatting to a guy at Harvey Norman yesterday. Basically there are extremely limited stocks of all LG and Panasonic and he doesn't expect that to change any time soon. He knew what the pricing was for their Black Friday special but said it wasn't going to be anywhere near as sharp as last year, and doesn't really expect any decent promos for Boxing Day either due to supply issues across all TVs.

He said there is unlikely to be any more BX stock once what they have in the supply chain is gone, and there probably won't be any discounting on that other than display models (and even then he doubted they would ever drop under $3k for the 55) which is still expensive.

Any word on the CX stock?

I'm checking with our NL rep, HN seems to think as advised above CX stock will be extremely limited and I'd doubt prices will get anywhere near as low as Pre covid.

All I've heard from NL is that the sales reps don't know if/what will be on special for BF before consumers find out.

Thanks. Anything around the $3500 mark for a 55" model and I'm interested. But if they're going to be around the RRP, thats a firm "no" from me.

Failing that, I guess I just wait for the next OLED manufacturer to implement full HDMI 2.1 support (including VRR). Does anyone know if there are plans for other manufacturers to retrofit that to existing models via firmware upgrades. I've been working on the assumption that if it's not supported now, it won't be until the next gen model comes out, but that could be faulty (unless the TV only has HDMI 2.0 hardware, of course).

If it hasn't been already declared (which as far as I am aware, none have), then no. Full support requires more capable hardware, which is why implementation is slow, as OEMs try to cheap out.

Given the debacle that is the Panasonic HDMI 2.1 chipset in AVRs, the whole roll-out is a clumsy mess, so I'm not surprised they see the value in holding off.

This probably isn't helping matters either.

Automation Problems at Auckland Port.

I went to order some tyres today for my car, to be told there's no stock. Apparently the supplier has had stock stuck in containers on the Auckland wharf for two months. The items I want probably won't be available till February. 🙁

Looks like shortages might be the new normal.

I wonder if we'll see this generation of specs hang around for a little while longer, given manufacturers haven't been able to get a return on their investment this year. We might see an up-ending of the launch Feb/Supply mid-year cycle.

If I were you I'd head into your local NL, sounds like they're expecting a few units in the next week or so. Store in Wellington had them advertised at 3.7, but i reckon you'd be able to get it for 3.5 ish if you ask?

NL rep said CX stock before Xmas, but don't expect any super sharp prices.
