cyril7: Sky Sports 1&2 go 16:9 by the end of this month (July) others will follow next month. Most other channels will go 16:9 in next couple of months. Talking the current SD channels here, not HD which naturally will be 16:9.

James Bond: I've noticed that the Sky website guide lists most TV3 shows as being in HD in the description.

good point, they haven't started doing that with Sky Sport stuff yet (eg Monday Night League)
Anyone know if the HD Sports channels will be in addition to or instead of SD channels?
adamj:
The HD channels will have to be in addition to the exisitng channels as they are transmitted on DVB-S2 MUX's which the legacy decoders cannot recieve.
Balchy: I notice a few people here have mentioned the four month free multi room is only available to existing mysky users or something along those lines? I organised my install last week and they gave me the free four months by keeping my existing standard stb. Anyone know if these is correct or have I been led astray?
Customer 1 has MySky 1. Upgrades to MySky HDi, keeps old MySky, gets 4 months free.
Customer 2 has MySky 1 plus standard decoder multiroom. Upgrades to MySky HDi, hands back standard decoder and apparently gets 4 months free.
Customer 3 has 2 standard decoders multiroom. Upgrades to MySky HDi, hands back one standard decoder and pays $100 extra over the same 4 months.
motogpnz: And maybe... Customer 4 has 1 standard decoder. Upgrades to MySky HDi, keeps std decoder as new multiroom contract and gets 4 months free.
Is this what others are getting from Sky CSR?
Beltor: I understand that the MySkyHDi can technically do it today, but then this is a Sky developed system!
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

The article was about reception of Freeview HD (DVB-T H.264) + Sky DVB-S/DVB-S2. As the MySkyHDi does NOT have a DVB-T tuner your understanding is completely wrong.
