Ah yes thanks; I signed up for the club, got a month free of Club+ so save $6 but have to pay $89 in postage.

I am trying to figure out if saving $178 over local is better than just picking up locally .. there is the wait for delivery, and the 'how do I deal with an issue, if there is one'

And then I have to figure out how to get rid of a perfectly fine TV from circa 2012

Purchased as well.

The next thing is probably a soundbar; as the purchase of the TV was more for my father than for me, he has some hearing difficulty so not sure if the built in sound will be enough for him (will be for me)

I havnt used "open sound" for ages I have a set of sennheiser HDR185's works for me.

There is one thing I will be interested to find out if my Sony WH-1000XM4 will work with it as I couldn't get them to work on the previous one.

My father does have XM3's, so hopefully they do work - wearing some headphones might be better than having the TV at 'loud'

The XM4's linked up straight away and work fine. I set the TV up on my own. I do not recommend this! LOL. There were some very helpful video un box and setup on Youtube. So far so good.

You got yours already?

I am still waiting for shipment; I am at the wrong end of the country, so I don't expect to see it until late next week or the first week of May.

Yep all going well. I rang up my local store who was delivering it and asked when had that day. It had been slotted for some time next week

Might be worth a call.

So local store does delivery, not a central 'The Market' warehouse?

Given that I park right outside Noel Leeming Dunedin, maybe I should walk in an ask if I can take one now rather than in 'a week or two'

Rang local store, got told 'nope - not coming through us'
Though they didn't ask for a order number, just a phone number.

I shall go back to waiting, I am in no rush.

The Market emailed 'we note that your parcel should have been shipped by now, we will check with the supplier to see if they have forgotten' (or something like that)

Still waiting for any sign of shipment; got angry and said I was going to cancel. Now I apparently have an alternative source supplying..

Should have just purchased in store for $2700 rather than trying to save a ~$180

ascroft:

Interesting one - suspect existing tv valueless so the challenge is how to get rid of it.

If anyone is having trouble getting rid of a 6 year old "valueless" TV in Auckland, I'll come and pick it up.

As per this other thread we have a 16 year old TV which is truly valueless!
