There was a small WebOS update a couple of days ago. AirPlay now works on my W8 without having to use my ATV4K.

Second hand X8 series have just gone up in price I bet!

Thanks all. I contacted LG NZ and have dropped the TV at Hanlons Repair which will be covered under extended CGA warranty. Hopefully hear back from them tomorrow.

Nice work . Unfortunately now you don't have an excuse to buy an OLED 😄

I think I'll still buy an OLED when there is a drop in prices. My current tv has terrible black colours being edge lit. Hanlons called yesterday asking for proof of purchase which i sent in. Expecting an update today on repair

Hanlons have said the panel is done and they are unable to order a new one. LG have offered to provide the 2020 version of my TV. I have asked if i can pay the difference and they order me the OLED CX, worth a try

Good luck! It's a really good TV. I'm loving ours. The picture quality is awesome, and the overall usability is a big step up from our old setup.

Thanks, it looks like a really good TV - we have our tv wall mounted and i believe the mounting points are very low on the CX, where as they are high on my current LG. Might have to move the mount a bit on the wall.

Yup, every time I think I can settle for another LCD panel as an upgrade, I walk past an OLED in-store and think "nope, self-emissive or bust"

I can relate, everytime I switch on my OLED I know I made the right choice. Everything looks amazing, I'm even 95% happy with SSN in 1080i upscaled to the 4k panel.

Am on the early stages of convincing my wife to get an upgrade and was wondering what others thoughts on my current options. I have seen both the Sony 85X9000H FALD and the 65 A8H OLED at the same price. Given the 20 inches difference would you go for size or stay for quality?

I guess it may come down to how much size matters.

65” of awesome vs 85” of almost awesome.

All depends on your viewing distance... an OLED does look prettier though.

About 2.5-3 meters.

I have the about the same distance and have gone with a 65" with no regrets... Albeit my wall space is actually limited to a 70".

Will you use the OLED advantages i.e. watching in dark conditions, or are you looking to capitalise on the hdmi 2.1 features?
