Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help, I think everything's 100% Ill leave it for a while see if its recording series properly.

Last small thing which may need a new thread, when I used the EPG Collector function to upload the channel icons to media center, how can I make those icons bigger.

SJB:
samsam: I've tried with the other tuners and get the same result. It is 2x Dual tuners, they all get reception as i am able to record 4 channels at once in media center
Try LNB parameters 1075/1075 and 0 in the switch for a channel scan.

Press the Default button a couple of times and they should be filled in for you.

k so i tried that and selected each tuner individually still no luck

So you have a single sat dish with dual lnb with 2 cables coming out of it to your tuners. Is that right?

And you have a 2 way splitter on each cable to give you your 4 inputs?

I've also got an exit code 13, no data collected. I think I will just wait for freitasm's promised guide. There is no need to reinvent the wheel, no rush and for me it's not a big deal.

G'day,

First up - brilliant product, I can't believe its taken me so long to find it. :)

Sorry to have to post but I've got the same issue Watman had and despite trying many permutations of ouput and lookup tab options its still present.

I'm running EPG Collector v4 and using the direct import to WMC option. I'm targeting a Hauppauge DVB-S tuner for the MHEG5 data. All shows for the channels turn up in the guide but only selected channels allow a "record series" option for its shows. When I check my guide sources only some of the channels have the  *-EPG Collector name syntax - these are the channels that allow series recordings. The actual channels vary between runs - sometimes its just the TVNZ ones, sometimes its TV3 & TV4. Currently its just U & TV1 + 1 that have the EPG Collector source. I've tried a bunch of different things including resetting my guide database, de-merging my tuners etc but have yet to get it working across all channels. Any ideas on what else I can try?

Many thanks.

I'n not sure why this is not working for you as NZ satellite Freeview is pretty straightforward and is what I test with all the time.

One thing is that you only need to scan either 12456 or 12483. They both carry the same data. As well as that you don't need to set the option for raw CRID or to duplicate the channel information for sat collections imported directly to WMC.

I'm inclined to say start again with a new WMC database. In other words delete it and the backup directory and start from scratch.

With sat collections the auto map epg option should also work fine as well so you wouldn't have to do the mapping in WMC.

Hi guys, I am new to using EPG Collector and after some advice.
I currently have x1 DVB-S, and a Composite DVB-S / DVB-T tuner card in my HTPC. i have run EPG Collector using just the satellite feed to get the guide, but what i would like to know is, which feed is better for collecting guide information, DVB-T Or S. also, can you have it source the information from both streams at once?

Cheers

Are you talking just Freeview or Sky as well?

You need to collect terrestrial MHEG5 because not all of the terrestrial stations are on satellite.

When you set up your parameters if you import directly to WMC and automatically map EPG data to channels make sure you tick 'Create data for channels with the same name....'.

Also some users make the mistake of collecting from all the frequencies available on their transmitter. You only need to collect from any one of them.
