RogerMellie:

Handle9: I got a 55 inch C1 delivered today. It’s all that and a bag of chips.

It’s ruined our big TV, I’m really not sure how long I’ll be able to put up with a Sony 85e after having the alternative.

Where did you get a C1 from? From what I've seen all retailers had cleared them out, except I did see Magness Benrow had a 48" C1 online.

fwiw 55" C2 now available at $3,145 on JBHifi, Harvey N, Noel Leeming.

I’m not in NZ, I’m in Dubai.

There’s still plenty of C1s available here for cheap.

Looking at getting a TV for our second lounge. We currently have a cx 55 in the other lounge. Wanting to spend around 2.5k and after at a 65 inch. What's the best 65' around that price on the market?

I was looking for something similar for a friend (as he impulsively pre ordered a Samsung Q70).
I ended up persuading him to spend $400 more and get the Panasonic JZ980 OLED. Or the Sony 90k was an option.

We were at Noel Leeming buying a new fridge and i almost went with the 65' Q70B - but then read some reviews about the Q70 and Q80 and they didn't perform overly well.

I'd definitely spend the extra 400ish and get an OLED. JZ980 65" for $2977 at HN

Slight change of plan - the 65' will be too big for the space on the wall and too big for the seating arrangement - 55' would be more ideal - weighing up the TCL c835 and samsung qn90b.

Does anyone own one of the 2022 mini-led TCL tv's? Quite interested to hear how they perform

Noting it does look like you already have an OLED in one room, is there a particular reason you're not looking at an OLED for the second TV? I can attest to the JZ980 offering great bang for buck - we have the 55" as our second TV, and we're really happy with it. Also comes in cheaper than the LCD TVs you're looking at: https://www.priceme.co.nz/Panasonic-TH-55JZ980Z-55in/p-911676276.aspx

Thanks, I will take a look - I had been told that the Panasonic OLEDs weren't overly great.

Interesting! By whom, do you mind me asking?

Sure, the interface is somewhat old-fashioned (which I actually prefer to WebOS), but I have nil complaints about image quality on either of our Panasonic OLEDs, and many others here are similarly happy.

(And, personally, unless there was an incredibly strong compelling argument such as terrible glare that couldn't be mitigated, I'd elect OLED over any comparable LCD.)

OLED's from Pana, Sony and LG are all made by LG and all look fantastic compared to any LED.

A buddy who used to own one, although I'm not sure which model but was OLED. The panasonic OLED's seem to be quite thick? As it will be wall mounted, as flush as possible to the wall would be ideal

Also keen for thoughts on 55 inch Panasonic UHD OLEDs, specifically the 2021JZ1000 master oled panel vs the 2022 55inch lz1500. I appreciate a very nice picture for movies which I hear is a strong point of Panasonic, but I'm no professional, so wondering if I will see much difference with the lz1500 Master oled pro panel, which is about $900 more?
One concern for the older model was upscaling, but could an Apple tv or similar fix that? I am still tempted to just stretch my budget for the extra brightness and credentials of the lz1500!

I have settled on a Panasonic oled after doing some research. Either the jz1000 or jz980 in 55 inch. Trying to get one now seems quite difficult being the 2021 model

Thanks - yes in fact the JZ I was looking at has gone. Any big reservations about the 2022 LZ1500 in your research beyond additional price? Our living room is fairly bright, so extra brightness could be worthwhile for some tv, though our movie watching is mostly night.

No reservations at all. That's an excellent TV. May pay to shop around, there seems to be some really good prices on TVs at the moment. Just noticed the 55" Samsung s95 oled is $2586.
