Found some - here

Original source DXD, there's up to 11.2MHz DSD samples, then assorted formats down to 44/16 CD quality FLAC.
The DSD files are huge, ie >500MB for a 6 minute 5.6MHz DSD *.dff file, vs 25MB for a 44/16 FLAC.

The DAC software/drivers can "upsample" any PCM source to DSD, which is really a very pointless feature.  However, although it's a bit of a fiddle to get native DSD playback, once set up it can be done with an auto setting, the DAC switches mode seamlessly, allowing (non blind if you're the one changing files of course) playback comparison at original format.

Which dac is it? I have an iFi here somewhere that has a million different settings. I've never actually had it out of the box as my headphone use tends to be very intermittent. I'll have a burst where I use them heaps for months and then not at all for a long time.

I love my Sony XM2's, they were the clear leader ahead of Bose quiet comfort (IMHO) when I purchased.

However, these new Bose will likely be my next pair unless Sony pull something spectacular out of the box.

These new Bose look outstanding. Video here

My reaction was the opposite. I love their minimalist style, esp the single piece all stainless headband.

Doesn't look minimalist to me, looks ugly, white and attention seeking. The band is horrendous!

Those new bose ones look like they might be uncomfortable, I can’t wear stuff that puts too much clamp pressure or sits on the ear as it causes ache pain in my head.

Just got the Massdrop HD6xx after a long time of contemplation. They’re incredibly comfortable on the ears and sound great, even with just a Fiio e10k powering them on high gain.

On that note, anyone have decent experiences with Rapallo AV? Looking to get a better dac/amp combo, mainly for multi input from different sources.

Love my HD6xx’s very easy to listen to for hours.
Just picked up the LCD2 classics, these are seem similar in the tone I like from the 6xx but seem more detailed.

Rapallo AV are awesome to deal with, I’ve bought many things from them over the years including the Topping DX7 im using as a DAC for my tube amp.

I'm looking at noise cancelling as I fly reasonably frequently domestically. I have Momentum On Ear headphones currently among a myriad of ear bud? style headphones (Koss, Sennheiser etc). I'm not an audiophile per se but was wondering what I should consider outside of the Momentum 2.0 or PXC 550? I'd prefer a cord but am happy with something that does both.

How are you liking the LCD2Cs? Very tempted by a pair...

Did you order them from the States as I can’t find them locally yet.

I use Shure SE215 with the bluetooth adapter with foam earplug I get decent isolation on the flight. I've just ordered some Comply Pro replacement tips so keen to see how they perform on my next trip.

No NZ supplier unfortunately when I was looking recently.
When I contacted an Australian Hi-Fi store, they said “As it happens, we are unable to ship this product directly to New Zealand due to supplier agreements.”
I got mine off Trade Me second hand near new condition.

Compared to the 6xx I find they get hot on my ears, they sound a little bit harsh in some of the mid range, they don’t sound as musical and relaxed and they are not as comfortable.
But, I like the bass and I love how dark they sound. Quiet bits are deathly silent, it’s a cool affect.

I haven’t listened to the 6xx since I got the 2c, that’s partly lack of time and partly worrying I will like the 6xx more and then regret getting the 2c lol.

Well that's rather disappointing! I tried the most recent LCD2 and thought they were "good" and I *love* the LCD3 but just don't want to spend that much money on cans so I thought maybe the LCDC2 would be my holy grail for an open-backed over-ear set to compliment my Final Audio Sonorous VI's. I am looking for a warmer, lusher sound.

The Mr Speakers Aeon Flow are also on my list - maybe they would be a better option? Also considering the various HiFi Man options, but I am so leery of their build quality and longevity...

I have spent the last couple of years using Bose QC35 and and Beats Studio 3, but this week I finally decided to treat myself to a pair of Sennheiser PXC550. I figured it was time for a step up in sound quality to match my KEF Q300 speakers and fully experience my new subscription to Tidal Hifi.

The much more clinical sound of the PXC550 takes a bit of getting used to after the more 'dumbed down' sound that I'm used to from the Bose and Beats product, but wow, what a huge step up in detail and authenticity.

I have one question for you experts - I will be using my PXC550s with my iPhone 8 Plus, MacBook Pro and Apple TV. How much of a sound quality bottleneck will I experience in using bluetooth? Do I really need to use a physical cable to make the most of the hifi quality tracks that I will be listening to on Tidal?
