That is good to hear! Themarket cancelled my order with NLG without notifying me/updating my order... so there's a help ticket logged for the past week.

At this rate I'm just gonna wait for the CX BF/BD sales this year.

Just got some prices with the NLG F&F Cost + 5% voucher.

The last 65" C9 was sold on 30 May on their system.

65CX priced at $5,248, the 65GZ1000 priced at $4,498 (which is already under their cost +5% apparently, and it was $3755 over QBW...super helpful salesperson)

Yea, I can tell you the cost price of a 65GZ1000 is well under $3755 fwiw

Hoping for some advice..

I really was hoping the Sony A9H would show up this year but it seems all but confirmed its a no go til mid next year after Covid.
Seems the A9G is really good ( love the motion handling for sports ) but it lacks the gaming features provided from HDMI 2.1 that the LG C9 and CX possess. The A9H is also strongly rumoured to posses Full Bandwith 2.1 as well.

Really thought long and hard about the CX but scared of issues surrounding lip sync and reminders of my bad experiences with my previous C7 . I guess the question is since A9G has come down a fair bit in price, If i pick that up am I dooming myself when the PS5 releases later this year ? I'm more a movie and sport person but if i get a PS5 I want to get the most out of it.

The PS5 announcement is tomorrow 8am - best to wait and see to determine whether HDMI 2.1 is the necessary saviour for all new TVs.

HDMI 2.1's value is already a given - even if the full standard isn't supported, VRR, 120Hz and automatic Low Latency Mode are big wins for these devices. I'm not sure I'll be upgrading my receiver to support these features any time soon, so I may end up piping my audio through ARC for my TV, but it's still going to be a great improvement, especially on the Xbox side where variable frame rate games will benefit immediately from the extra horses.

Agree regarding upgrading receivers to HDMI 2.1. A big expense to buy into a not yet settled standard.

ARC is good, but the inseperable CEC is a complete pain if you have an all in one remote (Harmony Hub). Damn system develops a mind of its own, and not in a good way.

As result, I've connected via optical between TV and receiver, rather than put up with ARC. I guess eARC is another matter, but I don't yet need to pass Atmos or DTS-MA back from the TV to receiver.

It was actually enabled on the RZ830 and RZ920 onwards. Most of the lower x30 and x20 models missed out.

i find ARC on my LG c7 with my aging demon 3312 amp works fine. I just disable CEC. Using harmony hub.

If only. Some receivers / TV's allow you to disable cec whilst keeping (e)ARC, many others, such as my Pioneer LX-85, do not.

Then there are hacks, like shorting pin 13 on the HDMI cable, but again, you tend to lose both cec and ARC.

My TV is now in my lounge, still in a box though but I am very much looking forward to finishing work and getting home and unpacking it. Then starting the assembly of the new cabionet I purchased for it

Yeah, just achieving a stable 60 fps @ 4k with HDR will be a real win to be honest. The only downside is the lack of VRR support, which I've heard can make a noticeable difference, but unless you are comparing side-by-side, you probably won't miss it.

From what I have heard, 4k @120fps was only going to be a possibility in multiplayer games anyway where the graphical assets are pared down for maximum performance; given I only really play games for the story, I just want consistent eye candy.

The only real reason I want HDMI 2.1 is to justify spending a bit more now on a decent TV, so in theory, I can hopefully sit on it longer. Those GZ's are awfully 'purdy though.
