Does anyone have any first-hand experience with the B&W PX7?
The little things make the biggest difference.
My Surface Headphones 2 in matte black are sitting in Auckland waiting to be couriered down to me in Wellington. They've been in Auckland since Wednesday evening. They were sent from Melbourne on Monday evening. As usual, nearly longer to get from one end of one island than across the Tasman.

Heh, I think I posted here once before (another thread) about how an item from the US arrived quicker than something I ordered, in stock, in Newmarket, less than 10KM away.
Am not much of an audio nut. Just wondering about the Sennheiser HD 450BT as a gift for general use with a bit of noise cancelling thrown in. They're only $199 till the end of today. Reasonable / good / bad ?

Trying to find some nice BT on ear headphones, to match my wired momentum 2's.
Everything newer seems to be over ear. Wanted on ear with noise cancelling ideally.

Anyone got/tried the RME ADI-2 DAC?
Seems like a decent, do-it-all endgame desktop unit...
It's not family safe to describe what I would require to be included with this to make it worth $2500 :)

Oops - for some reason I was thinking the US$ price was the NZ$ price, i.e around $1k! At the top end, but worth considering...
...but yes, having checked Rubber Monkey, I am not sure I would drop that much either.
$1K isn't outrageous on a DAC, a Mid to high Mid-range mobile DAC and Amp would cost you $700-1000.
Though, in my experience, diminishing returns kicks in at a pretty low value for DAC's in my opinion.
Just landed: JBL Quantum 800 wireless/Bluetooth gaming headphones. Charging at the moment...

In 2020, it seems like the market is rich with options; $1K USD could buy you a whole lot of good gear AND still have some left over for black-jack and hookers... I will say its 'purty (I am a sucker for a metal + gauges), but you are definitely paying a lot for that case/equalizer/brand. They're not even using a top-range DAC chip.
I have been contemplating picking up a JDS Labs Atom as a cheap pre-amp, and better head-amp then my Yamaha speaker amp, but then I see that Topping should be releasing a new head-amp soon, so might have to wait until then to see what the NZ price looks like. Anyone had experience with the Atom or other JDS Labs products here?
Might have to upgrade my headphones next...
Has anyone used the Apple air pods pros?
I have found with most (not all) in ear things, I get to hear a lot of internal noise - breathing, hearbeat, articial heart valve etc which I find unpleasant, irritating and distracting. It appears to be as much a product of the material as it does the item
For example, I have some custom moulded in ear hearing protectors I wear for shooting. They are absolutely fine. Made of some semi-hard silicone material. A year later, I had the same company make (using the same in ear mould) some sleep earplugs. They use a slightly different material for those and I simply cannot use them for sleeping - way too much internal noise. Cheap foam earplugs are fine, though!
I had Galaxy Buds and could not use them for the same reason. However, I have some Shure IEMs that have foam tips and they are fine.
I quite like the portability of the Apple APP but they ain't cheap and I would not want to spend that much just to get stuck with something that drives me nuts and have to sell it at a loss a week later. I wondered if anyone else had used them and whether they had experienced anything like what I describe.
