Hi, some of you may have seen this issue posted on the re-tune needed for Mediaworks channels but I havent had any luck trying to fix it so I've created a thread for it

I have not changed any settings what so ever only did a rescan as per the original post.

Ive take a couple of screen shots of my issue to make it clearer.

Picture called EPG1 shows that beyond a about an hour TVNZ channels have no EPG whereas the Mediaworks ones do and also have the little logos that EPG collector can upload.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=9C43DA81E65F469B!143&authkey=!AOZWyuajhNz6Nf8

Picture called EPG2 is my guide settings, under the listing menu. The two at the top have the EPG collector end whereas the 2 x TVNZ channels there is no EPG collector option. Furthermore before the re-tune there were 44 listing selections and after there is only 34 of which I believe are the missing TVNZ channels.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=9C43DA81E65F469B!142&authkey=!ANPvYQmGPo9UX-M

Its so frustrating as all I did was a re-tune.

Thanks for any suggestions

Did you just scan for new channels or did a full TV signal setup?

I firstly did a scan for new channels a few days after I saw that post, but later that afternoon/evening I got signal errors on Mediaworks channels on a scheduled recording, selecting it from the guide to watch immediately and even just surfing channels.

After that I did a full signal setup and that's where the problems began, I didn't get signal errors but the EPG was all messed up.

As you can see in the pictures in the link the EPG-Collector option was not there for TVNZ channels

It looks like those channels are getting the EPG from the Freeview signal, not from the database.

In "Output" on EPG Collector, do you have the "Automatically map EPG data to channels" set?

You might want to remove the MCE database altogether - meaning a setup of the channels, etc. Interesting as I have a HTPC and my laptop here and didn't have this sort of problem after the change.

Yes "Output" on EPG Collector is set on "Automatically map EPG data to channels", I also found a site and done the following to delete everything to start again.

http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/09/clearing-guide-data-and-tuner-setup-from-windows-7-media-center.html

It may have worked but Ill have to check in tomorrow to see if my scheduled run of EPG collector uploads and maps it properly

Ok its been 2 days, it was working everything was perfect, guide was properly populated etc etc.

I clicked to Parliament channel and to just name a few Prime, ChoiceTV, Parliament TV and the radio channels loose their EPG-Collector tag in the guide settings and in the guide it looses all the logos, and seem to use their in band EPG.

Im wondering if I should go in to each of the guide setting for each channel and "Disable Inband" as i think the inband guide is over writing my EPG-collector settings.

Have you done the registry settings to stop the inband guide loader?

UPDATE
I have googled disable media center inband and have tried the 2 registry edits, restarted the computer, did a full retune and ran EPG Collector.

Guide on all channels and logos were all populated, 44 channels available for selection in the guide listings. I went through all 25 or so watchable channels and "disabled inband" on all channels but as soon as I went to say "channel 9" about half the EPG changed to ".", logos disappeared and channel listings available went to 25.

The inband guide is still overwriting the EPG Collector data.

Well I hope I've fixed it, I cleared the EPG guide using my link above, restarted the computer, deleted, restarted the computer, re did the registry keys restarted the computer, ran EPG-collector to populate the EPG, and just channel surfed and watched tv for a bit, and the EPG-collector listings seem to be staying in place, so I hope it stays like this.

Will update if it stops working again

Alright well its mostly working, but Prime, Trackside, ChoiceTV, Firstlight, TV33 and TV One +1 show "." in the EPG. The funny thing is the logos still populate the channel name column and they all have EPG-collector in the guide listings.

Heres a copy of my EPG-collector log.

They are just data transmission errors. You can ignore them.

Why are you processing 3 frequencies? They should all provide the same data so you just need to use one of them.

Are the frequencies your talking about 562000, 578000 and 594000 you select when you make your EPGcollector.ini?

I have been using those settings ever since I started using EPG-collector and only edited them when they changed frequencies.

Do I only need to select one?
