Similar problems have come up on Geekzone at least twice before - http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=84&topicid=73551 and http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=34&topicid=26534 but neither discussion has helped me.
I recently rejigged the inputs on my Sony Bravia KDL-4624500. Rejigging means I drilled some extra holes with a hole saw in the back of my furniture and unplugged things and replugged them back in all neat and tidy, but everything got replugged into the same things it was in previously, except I had never powered on the Igloo and the Android device at the same time due to a lack of powerpoints.
I have a Sony DVD Home theatre connected on HDMI1, and also with an optical audio cable.
HDMI2 I have a Teac BluRay Player
HDMI3 I have a 3 way HDMI switch with:
1. an Android HDMI dongle
2. a DVB-S sat tuner
3. an Igloo box (and I've had errors off that before because the TV is old and doesn't support HDCP)
AV1 is a Nintendo 64.
AV2 is Igloo via component cables.
I get the OSD of the external inputs coming back after 5 seconds and staying permanently and yes I have moving video below it. I have cycled through the i+ button on the remote a few dozen times. I have tried factory reset. I have tried unplugging all but one device. I have tried turning HDMI control on and off from inside the TV. There doesn't seem to be any on/off option in Setup for the Info banner. The info banner is there for AV1, AV2, HDMI1, HDMI2 and HDMI3. It disappears when on the digital or analogue TV channels. It also disappears if I show the 2 inputs (ie the BluRay and a digital TV channel) at once.
Until this recent moving around of cables for the 4 years I've had the TV the OSD info banner would come up for 5 seconds or so and then disappear.
Any suggestions?
