Hi,

I'm looking to get a 40". I was initially thinking about getting Samsung's UA40H6400 for the 3d, but having read bad review of it's 3d, I think I might just drop the 3d requirement. Now I'm thinking I don't even need SMART features of a TV because I have an Amazon Fire TV on the way... (And maybe a PS4 next year)

With that in mind, what do you guys suggest?

Samsung LED - forget the smart features, just a model with a good panel and keep the smarts outside it.

If 3D is include at no additional cost, then it is probably worth getting, as it was usually only included on better quality panels. But you may never use it. They do seem to be phasing out 3D tvs though. Personally I would look at sony over samsung.

Loving my Samsung 6400.  Never used the 3D but otherwise a great panel, and make more use of the smart features than I ever imagined.

Those are far too big for me, I might squeeze in a 42" but even that'd be pushing it.

How do you find the smart remote?

How is the backlight uniformity?

Bit the bullet, got the Samsung UE40H6400.
I am rather pleased with it so far.

The smart remote is gimmicky but it does the job, would have been awesome if the voice commands worked the MySky box better but it refuses to go to channel ## (up and down work though).

It is a tad more reflective than I'd hoped.

Sorry bit late:  Used in family room, and couldn't be happier.  Incredible picture (IMO), no issues at all. Don't use the smart remote, we got a Samsung keyboard with the purchase and that makes things a lot easier for smart functions.  Prefer the standard remote otherwise.
