Hi,

I have purchased a Panasonic TV HX700 which i note has usb recording. It's not something I will use a lot but i'm wondering what size usb drive to buy. The biggest i have currently i think is 16gb.

I'm not able to find out for example what size say a one hour recording would be approx. Is there a rough guide for the size of these type of recordings?

Approx 3 GB / hr for 1080i channels, less for the SD channels. This is often quite clunky to use on a TV, but if you want to use it regularly, grab a USB hard drive to plug in, not a flash drive.

Using a flash drive for TV recordings will wear it out in no time. You need to use a USB hard drive (or maybe a USB SSD these days). Or if you already have spare hard drives, put them in a USB drive mount.
