Hi all, anyone have any feed back on this TV->
Hisense 55" U7HNZ Smart 4K ULED TV
or any other good deal at the moment.
Looking for a budget/mid 55" TV, not familiar with Hisense TV's or Vidaa U6 operating system.
Thanks

gzt: The Metz OLED is one to consider. I have not seen one yet
I just got one (Metz OLED)
Thanks
mulac: How is it? Been interested in the Metz, especially at this price
Will let you know, probably won't get time to setup till Friday.

Had it setup for a day now, pretty much as the reviews say for a budget OLED.
Pro's->
Has a LG panel
Nice clear screen, far better than my 2019 Sony LED
Has 30gb Storage (27gb user)
I like the remote design (some people don't)
I like the Android system eco system
Con's->
Android system is a bit clunky (have a Fire Stick as well)
Has only 1.64gb ram
Not as bright as the QLED TV I had a few weeks ago, especially with Dolby vision in mountain/snow scenes.
The EPG only has the program time you are watching and one more, that's it, not even extra days, Strange???
For the Price of 1k for a OLED, it is a budget OLED, I will see how it goes over the next couple of weeks, other wise a Panasonic LZ980Z or Sony S80K would be better OLED, but the price $2200-$2600.
Also, consider TCL 55C645 QLED (Noelleeming) or HIsense 55U7H (Harvey Norman)
Cheers
Handle9: Too late for this thread but FWIW I’ve got a 55U7H. It’s a really good for the money. Picture quality is excellent although of course it’s not OLED. Mine is in a bright room so QLED is perfect technology for that setting.
VIDAA is fine, much the same as LGs OS really. I’d buy another one tomorrow.
Yes that 55U7H would of been my choice as well, but I have the cheapy Oled now, love the blacks instead of greys, also I don't like TCL much.
Is the 65" Metz OLED the same as the 55" (just bigger) - and also does it have 120hz?
I had a look at one at the Warehouse the other day in passing and was quite impressed by the picture on it (and see they've occasionally been ~50% off). My wife and I aren't big TV watchers but I'd like to upgrade from my 5 year old 55" LG 4k to something that is 65" owing to wanting to wall mount to keep the toddler away from it, and also I'd like 120hz for my PS5.
We mostly watch TV series on Netflix, Neon etc so aren't 'tv-philes' by any stretch of the imagination. For reference, I have zero issues with the picture on my current TV but can see the OLED difference and would also love 120hz for gaming.
She liked the slim frame and overall look of it.
I've looked at far more expensive TVs, even going so far as nearly pulling the trigger on an open box A95K, but there's part of me that can't quite see how a TV philistine like myself would really be missing out by purchasing an entry level model.

This is bit of a hard one, in hind site I should of got the Hisense U7HNZ, but the Vidaa OS put me off.
Yes the Metz 55" is same as 65" as far as I know,
It has nice blacks and colours, but is not very bright, it does not have the wow factor as a QLED with HRD and Dolby Vision (it is just not bright enough).
TV is good at night in dimmed room but not good in bright lit room.
Has Android TV 10, not Google TV.
The OS is glitchy sometimes and the remote does not respond straight away which is a PITA, (not very often).
The TV guide only display current and the next program info time slots, no further programs or days.
Has a 60hz panel and hdmi 2, no hdmi 2.1
Hard to find any info on this TV, I think it is a Skyworth 9500 (which is from 2021)
So to keep your wife happy, either spend 2k or more on a quality OLED or 1K on a Hisence or TCL 6 series QLED,
when they are on special again, but apart from Black Friday deals, you may have to wait until May/June/July next year.
Ok I'll pass thanks, as I definitely want 120hz for gaming.
PB Tech has a Philips mini led for $1699 (down from $2000) at the moment so maybe I'll take a closer look at that.
I appreciate your input!
Oblivian: Current/next only is a sign of EIT channel data only
My 2013 pany plasma has that
It's only when you launch a proper freeview/mheg graphical guide it will load/show further.
Not set to internet only or satellite rather than DVBT transmission?
Ok, I don't know much about this, but will have a look in settings, where I don't know, will do a rescan too, see if that fixes it
Thanks

I had a look, can't find any settings anywhere, done a rescan, still the same only current/next program.
My Sony TV has no settings for freeview/mheg either, but just works??
Can you think of anything else or is the TV not set for NZ freeview guide??
