i5/8GB/256GB acquired. Not quite the i7/16GB, but enough for now. Should be sweet.

Is anyone using a third party dock/port replicator with two display ports or two HDMI? Looking for options. Cheers

I'd really recommend the new Dock

It has a MST hub inside and 2 mDP out natively

and none of the problems with having to load DisplayLink drivers into Windows and push video over USB using your CPU

Thanks Nathan. That makes sense. There seem to be two models - PD9-00002 or PF3-00002 - but I can't find the difference?

where do you see this as 2 separate SKUs, is this on the wholesalers web page or?

I'm pretty sure there is only 1 SKU/model

A handful of places. Here is one example:

PF3-00002
PD9-00002

ETA: Noel Leeming list their model as PD9-00002. Acquire have zero stock of that model but have the PF3-00002 in stock.

Working well, thanks @nathan. A shame my old Viewsonic monitors only support 1920x1080!

And in response to my own question on the previous page, Adobe CC runs just fine!

So how are you liking the device so far?
I have yet to hook mine up to my external monitor.

Stu: Corporate? Needs a Geekzone sticker on it then!

Another question if I may please; is anyone running the basic Adobe CC on their Surface Pro 4? If so, what spec Surface and does it run okay?

Many thanks!

Just disable the GPU rendering in the likes of Illustrator until Microsoft get round to writing better/more stable drivers for the Surface 4

otherwise you will get anything from artifacting to BSOD from it

There are a few bugs with multi-monitor support, but it's workable. Haven't done much with the pen yet. Still setting it up really but it's replaced my old notebook

It seems to run rather hot, but that will probably be mainly due to the room temperature.

All up I think it will do just fine thanks.

Are you having any luck with your pen issues?

Waiting for a firmware fix but using it all the time anyway. Putting up with the dropouts for now.

Mine is also replacing a laptop which was too heavy to lug around and also replacing my iPad. I was bit tired trading of portable vs functional.

Mine seems OK on the heat front even with the case (fully covers it) on in a very warm room. I haven't overly taxed it yet though, mostly Office, web browsing, video watching, light casual game play. I'll be putting CS6 on it eventually.

I am annoyed a screen at this price has backlight bleed in particular a hotter spot lower left. Not noticeable during the day. Not sure about media streaming at night which I do quite a lot in winter recreationally.

For some reason aeroplane mode keeps lighting up (did it on the other one to) but doesn't seen to affect anything.

Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. Windows Hello is amazing, so is handwriting input/recognition and I like and need the security of encryption. I really like the portability, size, weight, keyboard, trackpad and how well it works with my RATm bluetooth mouse. I also like Windows 10.

Which is not to say I wouldn't be even more happy with longer battery life! And Edge plugin support.

Don't think l can justify the cost of the dock vs amount of use it would get.

I'm guessing the sku differences you noted for the dock are Commercial vs retail.

How many hours battery life do you see on a light/average day of usage - meaning mostly web browsing or emails.

Its a bit of a shame that we need to tell clients that their flash (and expensive) product is a bit of a work in progress

by Microsoft and its to be expected to have these ongoing issues with the Surface product.

The whole selling point was that its Microsoft hardware running microsoft windows and so one would expect it to be more integrated.

I at this stage have stopped selling them until some quality control and testing is done to the product
