I see.

They wouldn't budge no matter what I tried. Tried asking for student discount, tried asking for discount if I bought 2 at the same time, nope. Guess they just aren't interested in my business.

they are doing a reseller expansion with IM at the moment, contact them if you want to apply

I made some calls to Ingram today as was curious,  the requirements made me laugh, there is no point in applying for this unless your retail chain or similar where you can move large numbers of them

sure, if you're only forecasting to sell 5 a month etc, you might as well buy them from JB/Noel/Harvey etc and resell

The largest Surface reseller in NZ isn't a retailer BTW

I notice the student prices for the surface pro 3 are now the same as the general publics prices.

Winder what the surface pro 4 student pricing will be like

Surface accessories are 20% off at Noel Lemmings this long weekend, pre ordered the Surface Pro 4 type cover and picked up the Surface Ethernet usb adapter.

I see the latest pbtech flyer for this weekend has the Surface Book listed (i7 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD) I guess parallel imported - I wonder if they will have a display model for it; quite keen to see one in the flesh.   Bah on further investigation it looks like it's some sort of pre-order advert with release listed as 03/11...

Unless it's a parallel import I wouldn't expect much from PBtech on MS pricing... I was trying to buy a Surface Pro 3 and was excited about PBtech having a "EVERYTHING AT WHOLESALE PRICES" sale a week or so ago.

Yep. Wholesale price for the MS Surface series is about 1.5% off regular price.

Sigh.

Cheers - N

Yep, it's the 2100 USD version listed for 4100 NZD...  Not too fussed about the price though because either way it's too much for me. Still very interested to see one in action though ;-)

Holy balls the Surface book is expensive.

Sooo pretty though. I see they haven't specified what the nVidia graphics is - I am picking a 950m level card?

I think anandtech did some analysis on their sample and called it "similar" to a 940M, but I think it's some sort of custom chip specifically for the surface book...
