I'm looking at two Targus laptop bags, the Targus CityGear Slim LiteTopload and Targus CitySmart Slimline Topload. Can anyone make a recommendation?

I recommend a full roast dinner...

C'mon guy, what are you putting in it, where are you taking it, how often will you use it, etc

Just the laptop, power pack, mouse and few bits and bobs hence wondering if the slim bag would be sufficient.

Good laptop backpack thread. I ended up with Timbuktu Division 2, good backpack, check out what they have in bags if that's what you're after. They have a sale on, shipping from Australia was reasonable when I did it last year.

I need something by the end of the week. Any other suggestions?

Edit: I might actually prefer a backpack so thanks for the suggestion. Just need something local.

Highly recommend Timbuk2.  I have one of their messenger's.  Still feels like new, and it's about 5 years old now.

I have used one of these for my MacBook Pro 15” for about four years. It’s simple but the quality is excellent and it’s still as-new. Has divisions in the padded main space plus side-pockets with sewn-in divisions for optional use. Great value for money. They make several different sizes.
