I have an HP DV5 1004AX Entertainment Series Laptop that needs a replacement screen (original is smashed).
The original is glossy. Is there an advantage of Glossy vs Non Glossy? I also have a Toshiba M5 which has a non glossy screen and prefer that because of the reduced reflection.
Had a look on trademe and ebay for screens. Found one on ebay for 179.99 US + 45.00 US Postage.. eek!
Theres ones on sale on trademe that fit an HP DV5000/6000/9000 etc series.. will they fit on mine?
Anyone know any good places i can get a screen from?

From what I understand any 15.4" screen SHOULD work in the DV5Z laptop. You can even get a screen with a different resoloution. You should take a look at the maintanence and servicing guide here:
just one more thing.. im assuming that if you have a glossy screen to start with.. you stay with a glossy screen for the new one?
is there a marked difference in the quality?
